In a genre so saturated with bands intent on reproducing the same stale ‘hardcore by numbers’ it can become quite a chore to find that elusive gem amongst the steaming piles of manure. It does however make it that much more rewarding when you do.

Introducing HYENAS, hailing from Germany, this Nuremburg noise quartet are ready to grab you by the short and curlies and make sure you hear what they have to say.

They really are a pack of wild animals! Formed from the ashes of several disbanded punk bands in 2012 they‘ve spent the last year storming around Europe leaving a trail of defiled scent like noise in every venue that allowed them in.

In true DIY punk/art style the group single handedly made a limited and numbered edi- tion of their first DEMO-EP released back in January of 2014 met with critical acclaim amongst musicians and journalists alike.

However upon inspection it’s easy to hear exactly why this band have already been snapped by some pretty heavy hitters in the gen- re to take out on support as Stray From The Path, Unearth & Counterparts.
Immediate comparisons can be made to the late but great The Chariot, Every Time I Die, Norma Jean and so on however this is not your typical hardcore.
The aggression here is immense, the guitar work focused on creating something bigger and better than just heaviness. This is raw, powerful and excruciatingly catchy in places. 

Recorded LIVE within FOUR days by Jan Kerscher out in the nowhere of Ghost City Recor- dings, surrounded by nothing than dark trees and the vibe of cold December-days, album-de- but named DEADWEIGHTS is set to grip it‘s vicious teeth into your soul and will not let go.

Robert Sierl comments: „DEADWEIGHTS refers to unloved peculiarities that we are subconsciously aware of but are often not so easily abandoned. The album is predominantly concerned with self development as a human being whilst simultaneously criticizing abuses and misconduct caused by modern society that are increasingly rooted in the personalities of each individual.“
