Wrote this song with the Surrey sub-team based off the tract, "Is Jesus in your boat?" This was during the 2018 gospel outreach to the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. 

Lyrics:

IS JESUS IN YOUR BOAT?

1. It was a stormy night,
In the middle of the sea.
The disciples all alone,
The shore they could not reach. 

This is our human life
As hard as we may try, 
The problems with no end- 
We always wonder why? 

2. Is Jesus in your boat?
He walks on stormy seas. 
The troubled waves of life
Are all beneath His feet.

Is Jesus in your boat? 
For He says, “It is I,
Do not be afraid.” 
Just let Him in your life.

3. Lord, my heart I open wide.
I thank You that You died, 
Forgave me of my sins, 
That You could be my life.

I heard this song one evening, feeling heartbroken. It did not mean much to me at the time, but a week later, I could hear the melody come back almost as if by surprise. I could not remember quite yet the words, but the melody filled my heart. I scoured my brain and finally, again, the sweet lyric, "I love Him, Jesus Christ, my Lord." came back to my memory. 
The harmonics in the beginning of this track resemble this experience. Each tone softly, and sweetly calling, reminding us of the Lord's drawing and gentle love in every time of joy or sorrow.

I once denied the love of God and walked away. 
I turned my back on Him. 
I thought that I could live my life and leave Him there, 
denying Him within, 

Chorus 1
but the Lord turned within my spirit 
and He kissed me with kisses of love. 
Now I'll shout it to all who can hear it,
"I love Him, Jesus Christ my Lord!"

Verse 2
My heart was hard.
My eyes were closed. 
I didn't see
the hold He had on me.
So trying the world and other things to find myself,
I just found misery.

His conquering love was stronger than my stubborn will, 
yet gentle like a dove.
Like wax before a glowing fire He melts the heart.
I could not fight His love.

When the Lord turns within my spirit 
and He kisses with kisses of love,
then my songs and my praises are flowing,
"I love thee, Jesus Christ, my Lord!"
