Notes passed in math class, now just a forgotten dream,

Walkin' past her in the halls, eyes betray my soul,
Yearbook memories, faces fading, take their toll,
Love notes crumpled, tossed in a black hole,
Small-town tragedy, world feels so cold.


Post up by lockers, she walks by
Fake smile plastered, but the soul’s dry
Yearbook photos, happiness a lie
Senior year ahead, but I just wanna fly


Homecoming dance, now a ghost in the gym,
Slow songs ain't sweet, they just remind of her 
Photos stuffed away, can't bear to look at them no more,
Heartbreak in the hallways, love turned to grim.


Math got no answers for this problem gone wrong,
Penning poems in the margins, but the feelings too strong,
Recess ain’t a break, ‘cause the sorrow’s lifelong,
Hiding tears, strugglin' to stay headstrong.
