One of the best things about coming back into a scene and starting a new label is the chance to sign artists like Dunk! Hailing from Brazil, he's been smashing it on many labels for a long time now and we're honoured to have him join us at Cognition. We snapped up T-Rex as soon as hearing it and his remix of our 001 release, Shadow Pursuit hit the mark with razor precision.

Like a worrying impression that something bad is about to happen, "Ominous' hits low, with haunting Synths and Sweeps, dark atmospheres, and a very deep Sub Bass. The progression in this tune is ridiculous, with all changing percussion, and beautifully crafted scratches.

Nothing seems to stop the young French label Hyperactivity Music as it comes back with its sixth release in less than a year.

This time, it’s the young Midn8runner who is at the command of this brilliant single. Native of southwestern France, he is certainly not an unknown name with already several releases on multiple labels like Eat my Records, Bay 6 & Soul deep.

'Ambitions' : After a catchy intro led by piano sample & female vocal, the track turns into a proper banger with its rolling drum sounds and distorted Reese bass. The perfect mix between softness and energy.

'Resolution' : This track is what is generally expected of a d&b track : Big, Bad & Bouncy. As simple as that. Quite minimal & ultra efficient, its naughty bassline definitely will make some damages on the dancefloor.

Very excited, proud and a little nervous to announce my debut EP on Critical Music. After 16 years of running the label i thought it was time i released a body of work of my own. Its quite daunting after all the incredible music the artists have given me to be doing this for the first time. I hope you enjoy it for what it is: raw, honest drum and bass. With clear dubby roots and occasional ventures towards the soulful and mellow, they’ve been repping the deeper side of Belgian D&B for almost eight years.
