Some mixes are a bit rough around the edges, some CDJ's acting up from time to time due to the humidity & heat but I think this recording paints a good sonic picture of the general vibe of this great night. Before we were entering PAL that january afternoon, we agreed on one thing: total freedom of choice of playing whatever we feel like. No Minusmensch thoughts allowed like „Dying to drop this, but already played it a thousand times” or ”Nah, not that one, it's in our latest mix” or whatever DJ-booth-duo-discussion-BS. Just energy. And we got a feeling it worked : ) 

This might not be the most sophisticated gems-only selection to brag about, but it sure is a memento of some serious new years fun.

With nearly fifteen years involvement in Melbourne’s underground techno scene, Ranjit can lay claim to contributing to a few special moments in its history. Best known to many as the man behind iconic club night Technoir, Ranjit is also a regular at other Melbourne Techno insitutions including Machine and Melbourne Techno Collective. 

Not only is he a gentleman and a scholar, Ranjit is also a deeply considered sound theorist. With the ultimate precision, he gets inside the music and somehow unpacks it; you can hear this in his mix as a DJ and in his production as an artist.
