"Eternal Values was written within the first year of me moving to Chicago. Acclimating to the constant noise & bearing witness to countless days of grey skies in a city filled with violence left me feeling hopeless some days.

Eventually, I was able to take a step back from everything and process these feelings into sound. Not only was I getting acquainted with my new found surroundings but I was also dealing with a loss in the form of a relationship that spanned many years. Truly all 5 stages of grief were poured into this EP, especially the more ambient songs. Finally it became almost overwhelming and I felt it needed to be heard."

Inspired by the iconic tradition of the sample pack, the Source Folder series seeks to explore the diversity of interpretations, paths and offsprings that might emerge from a common resource. In each installment, a member of the Global URL Nation provides a sample pack from which other artists are invited to create a new track. 

To initiate the series, we are honored to welcome SNKLS, a French producer blending rich sound designs, intricate drum patterns and synthetic curiosities into unique entities at the crossroads of genres and labels. 

For his participation, he curated not one, but two packs of sounds, made from a selection of Eurorack modules such as Rings, Morphagene or DPO, providing a set of tools, materials and supplies for others to appropriate, upcycle, reuse and combine in order to create their own item. 

The 127 Pack edition gathers artists César Ch, Cosmic Caz, EURROPE, King Demitri, Lukann, migu, T.U., VIO_L3T, & xato. From soothing soundscapes to ominous saturated hits, the different tracks draw the contours of a peculiar environment, a garden of synthetic singularities and beauties to be observed, appreciated and get lost into.

Acid Waxa and Global Goon, embark on a new release series titled Painting With Acid. Published across various formats with inspired artwork from Csenge Csató, Painting With Acid Volume 1, launches this April on limited edition cassette and download via Bandcamp, with additional cassette and vinyl editions to follow.


Global Goon (aka Johnny Hawk) is a former shepherd and programmer from Merseyside, U.K. Having moved to London, for a multimedia company in the 90s, he began producing music for fun as a side hustle while rooming with Richard D James/Aphex Twin. Following some encouragement from the man himself, Hawk released his debut album ‘Goon’ on RDJ’s Rephlex imprint in 1996 with rumours that Goon was an alias of Aphex Twin’s, persisting even after the release of Cradle of History and Vatican Nitez. He later formed his own label J-Hok Records, before going on to release more hard-hitting dancefloor-oriented acid tracks under the Syntheme, alias for Planet Mu and WeMe Records. The Painting With Acid series on Acid Waxa continues in the same vein, while also delving into experimental sonic soundscapes and downtempo ambient numbers, reminiscent of Goon’s earlier tracks for Rephlex.
