For Leonid Lipelis very few boundaries exist when it comes to his DJ choices, be it edits or original output (check out his releases on L.I.E.S or Public Possession). TMO likes to venture up the weird road, but keeps his music very danceable. Simply put, Lipelis x TMO is all about the dancefloor.
Lipelis’ approach is grounded in his long spinning life in music. The story of a true legend of the Russian dance scene started at S-11 club, picked up at Simachev Bar and culminates at those special slots at bigger raves and festivals like Outline, PPF or Signal, where Leonid has an important function to hold tight «that special» dancefloor, that is flamboyant, colourful and groovy. Next stop - international clubs and festivals across the globe.
As System 108 resident, Lipelis, continues his special way in music, being a core member of the community when it comes, again, to «those special dancefloors» — one of those for Lipelis was a 6H set back 2 back 2 back with the fabulous Simple Symmetry brothers and Odopt, cheered as mix of the day by Resident Advisor.
In his new EP, Lipelis, who is also TMO (hello, Discogs diggers, you know it!), delivers warm and groovy studio experiments, recordings that highlight his best playful side. Although these emerged somehow in an escape trip from Moscow and DJing, in the town of Zaraisk, with a very limited setup, being remote from the dancefloor resulted in perhaps the most dancefloor-ready record by the artist so far.
Combining the best of his two characters: the one-take spontaneity of TMO and Lipelis’ more linear and structured style, these jams are rooted in a true romance with drum machines, synths and studio workout spanning over two decades of dedication and love for the music.

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario, Luca Lozano, rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12” par excellence of genre blending, future dance grooves.  Leaning on his Sheffield upbringing, it’s of no surprise that the break beats, edits and bleeps of his native city seeps into his own forward thinking productions.  Having racked up some super releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, Crème Organization, alongside his own imprints, Lozano really impresses on his Hypercolour debut.  

‘Gun Fingers’ is a strictly heads down affair, luscious synths, tantalising breaks and heavyweight b-line sandwich in-between pounding kicks for a classy cut, whilst ‘Calling All Dancers’ is indeed a call to rave, laced with the familiar components of a golden era of UK dance, that never slips into pastiche, instead sounding fresh, vital and relevant to the times.

Kindred spirit, DJ Sotofett, weighs in with two versions of ‘Gun Fingers’ exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release.  Those who know Sotofett’s killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint.  And those who spent time chasing around motorways and A roads in search of the party will most definitely know what’s up on this set of remixes!

R&S welcomes Acid Mondays for a 12" of lysergic house music that reaches far into the outer cosmos. 
Formed "somewhere in the 5th dimension” Acid Mondays is the cosmic coalition of fellow psychonauts Negghead (Dan Ward) and Lex Wolf (Alex Wolfenden).  

Repeated transformative visits to Ibiza culminated in landing regular slots at Circoloco where they have been testing this tune in the dance all Summer long. 

‘Universal Rhythm’, their latest interstellar dispatch and debut on R&S is their finest work to date. An anthemic paean to the cosmos that features an impassioned spoken word missive from shamanistic MC Shovell, impressively recorded in a single take, making the case for the universality of experience and oneness of all beings.  

Latin rhythms fuse with a driving Fender Rhodes lick (provided by JD73) and percolating cow bells to hypnotic effect. This calls to mind a combination of classic Carl Craig and Villalobos at his most playful. R&S new signing The Maghreban supplies a killer dubbed out take on the original that strips away the heavy kicks and pumps up the percussion, hurtling the synth pads to the fore that comes on like John Carpenter peaking on MDMA.

To launch the brand new label with a bang, Midland has called up four exciting new artists for a split EP called 'Introduction' and it's one that showcases fresh new talent across four different soundscapes.

Here we premiere Peach's debut track 'Silky' and after she made it into our 30 Under 30,000 list at the start of the year, we're eagerly anticipating what 2018 will bring. If this track is anything to go by, we're in for something special.

On their debut album as DOVS, Tin Man and AAAA summon the ethereal spirit of acid. Tin Man, AKA Johannes Auvinen, has been studying the emotional potential of the Roland TB-303 for 15 years now, and AAAA (Gabo Barranco), a fixture of the Mexico City underground, might as well be his acolyte. While the coincidental similarities of their studio and live approaches make this collaboration feel natural, even expected, Silent Cities is anything but.

Acid Test 14 features remixes from select trackboth Tin Man & AAAA individually as well as label mate John Tejada.

Gestalt tried picking out 4-5 but to no avail, as the 10 tracks were inseperable. Anyhow they ended up taking on the whole lot on, to be released as a double album split into 2 installments.

‘Pt. I’ out 6 months ago is an effortless blend of breaks, bass and ambient, drawing heavily on artists such as Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and Pluxus. This is (in our opinion) a pretty valiant release and a bit ‘outside the box’, but definitely something that warrants a physical manifestation. For this second part Bobo returns to Gestalt Records with a 5-track collection of surging harmonies, swirling basslines and pensive ambiance.
