Our next release comes from Nikola Gala, who is contributing this excellent 3 track EP to our catalogue. Nikola has been busy as of late, producing and releasing fresh and exciting underground house & techno music on labels like Rekids, Enemy Records, Freerange, Plastic City, Ibadan and many more.

We are delighted to add such a forward thinking and polished bow to our sonic arsenal including these 3 brand new studio productions from Nikola. Varying from the intelligent techno house sounds of “Auburn”, to the raw techno beats and chords of “Off White”, to the hypnotic bells and atmospheres of “Lilly”, all three tracks are aiming squarely at the dance floor. Nikola Gala - Off White (Original Mix) - DA027

No doubt about it, HypeLTD are on a bit of a roll at the moment; recent releases from the likes of JoeFarr, The Analogue Cops and Marco Bernardi have helped shape the Hypercolour sub-label into a consistent purveyor of raw and rootsy techno music.

On the ‘Split’ EP, various artists are assembled to flex their prowess, namely Warlock, Zoé Zoe & Enoah Ballard and Samuel Thalmann.

Opening up the EP is Warlock, the driving force behind London’s Rag & Bone label.  This seasoned British breaks and electro producer offers up ‘Sawhorses’, a weighty 909 kick and incessant, filtering stabs give this an air of familiarity, Berlin in sound, Detroit in spirit perhaps, but a straight up club cut for certain.  A proper jacker, and an ace reverse edit right on the end!

Lithuanian brothers, Zoé Zoe & Enoah Ballard, team up for the ‘1234’.  Zoé Zoe has been behind previous releases on Planet Mu and Sneaker Social Club, and joins his sibling on this dark and ravey breakbeat driven track.  The kind of cut that separates the wheat from the chaff come closing time at your local discothèque, ‘1234’ is both eerie, cosmic and flat out deep all at once.  

Closing this ‘Split’ EP is Samuel Thalmann AKA Okain, a man behind an incredible musical CV, including music for Tsuba, BPitch, Memento, Four:Twenty and many more.  Samuel offers up ‘Not Anymore’ under his birth name, a blinding 909 drum workout with some freaky Chi-town modulations goin on.  Almost like a perfect accompaniment to Warlock’s ‘Sawhorses’, this is simple yet effective dance track that’ll have ‘em jackin and pumping their fists til dawn.

Scottish duo Clouds return to Soma after their devastating debut on the label last year with Complete Control. Once again the youngsters have served up 3 hammering tracks as they continue their attack on the Techno world, Boys On E. Terriers shows why Clouds are consider one of the most up and coming players in electronic music.

Teenage Boy opens the EP with crunching, stomping loops which over time clunk together into a tasty broken beat loop, propelling itself with rocket powered snares and hi hats leading to one almighty synth hook. The track really goes hell bound when Clouds let rip their signature rave-esq sound with images of firefights above dystopian cities as rip roaring drums are shredded by the wild, distorted synth line. 

Elevator Girl keeps things running in a similar fashion. A little more for-four than it’s predecessor but just as ferocious. Heavily distorted drums punch in, moving at lightning speed as looped out vocal cuts keep a hypnotic vibe. Pure punishment is the order of the day with Elevator Girl as clanking percussion bounces around the track while pulsing samples wail their way in the background. Not for the faint hearted.

The imaginatively titled Genista Cave 4 rounds of the EP with yet more full on abrasive sounds from Clouds. Stuttered vocal cuts sit over a thumping loop and the tracks rolls quickly into full swing dropping quickly into full on kick drum mayhem slaughtered by rattling percussion. 

The two little terrors are carving their way through Techno at the moment with their cacophony of distorted beats and ferocious production skill.

Trim steps up to the mic for the lead track, 'Pigeons', which brings next-gen grime energy with raw, club-ready vibes and menacing bars that are underpinned by a wobbly low end, and it's all perfect for dance floor detonation. 'Transit Limb' dives into a nostalgic yet forward-thinking fusion of experimental grime and UK bass that subtly echoes the sounds of the early 2010s with twisted breaks and chopped vocals.
The boys also invited @Notiiton and @BeatriceMasters for two great remixes, Noti turned the lead track into a precise electro banger and Beatrice drowned Transit Limb to the darkest depths of the ocean to close the EP.
