FLAX, a German DJ, sound artist, and event manager, has been immersed in various music scenes and subcultures since her youth, shaping her musical journey to the present day. Starting as a professional saxophonist, FLAX transitioned into DJing with the establishment of the network Metaware Weimar in 2019. Alongside DJing, she has also worked as a concept artist, music teacher, booker and she uses her voice in the scene to remedy grievances and abuses.

FLAX's musical style is characterized by "genre-fluid trips," where she skillfully blends diverse genres such as UK bass, experimental, breaks, technoid, percussive rhythms, electro with hip hop samples, trippy arrangements, spoken words, and unique sounds.

During her musicology and cultural management studies at the music university in Weimar, she researched "music and well-being" and delved into the history of electronic music and sound art, with a specific focus on "music & gender" in club culture.

Throughout her academic journey, FLAX began concentrating on mixing and experimenting with ambient, sound art, and deep listening tracks under the same alias, aiming to enhance the well-being of her surroundings and herself through calmer genres. This approach reflects her response to the fast-paced, meritocratic society surrounding us. Her research and exploration profoundly impacted and transformed her approach to mixing, digging, and curating music.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, FLAX is dedicated to empowering young individuals, particularly FLINTA* (Female, Lesbians, Intersex, Non-binary, Transgender, Agender), through workshops, inspiring them to play music self-empoweringly. Currently, she is working on her debut album project in Weimar, while continuing to engage in research projects. Since 2022, she has also been teaching at the Bauhaus University Weimar.
