Josh has delivered prolific EPs and remixes for Leng and Roam Recordings. 
Layne is known as a member of 40 Thieves, who have released on Leng & Permanent Vacation. His solo work has appeared on labels like Magic Feet, DFA and Machine Unlimited.

"Gloomy and frightening, that’s how I imagine this piece. I won’t analyze it the same way as I always do, but I will tell you the story that I’ve heard while I was listening to it.
The detective comes to the crime scene, his every step resonates, he sees the girl's body, nauseating doubt, and bittersweet tension overwhelm him. There are swarms of thoughts running through his head, he cannot concentrate on the prevailing chaos caused by the killer. 
The screeching noise that is dormant in this ungodly space - intoxicates ones mind, prevents a man from thinking straight, from seeing the important details, but only becoming a part of that noise, no matter how disorienting it is, can help to unravel the gruesome details of this heinous crime. 
Once isolated from the flashing lights of the police beacons, never-ending roaming of the police officers, the cries of frightened people, and their incoherent stories, he finally begins to see everything through the eyes of the unrighteous. Suddenly that noise merges with the grim environment, another melody begins to dominate, the vague, but endlessly soothing, it becomes a solace to his ears and without any encouragement, lends a hand in putting the missing pieces of the puzzle together. 
Suddenly, everything is shed in a new light. A woman's voice becomes apparent, a simple echo from the past, a helping hand relentlessly pointing a finger at what is critical. 
Every vibration is a clue, a translucent path that must be followed and it must be done without any hesitation, even if it might lead him to a dead-end... 
We are all interested in secrets, inexplicable things, unexplored riddles, fantastic worlds beyond our comprehension. Curiosity makes people unique, if something catches our attention, as it is in this case, we don't stop halfway. We explore and if we find it even remotely interesting, we get engaged. Calm and calculated start, if we compare it to the original, the entity and the amount of softness of the song is almost the same, but with the addition of vocals, I'd say it is even more gentle and refined. The major change and the bait of this version is the provocative and seductive voice. It practically begs you to give in and savor the moment on the grounds that there might never be another one like this.

nICo - "Unexplored Earths" EP - OUT NOW!

Milan-based electronic music producer nICo unveils his debut solo EP, "Unexplored Earths" on label Estuary Tapes. 
These four meticulously crafted tracks arrive in Spring 2024 and come with original artwork by the Estuary Tapes label boss.
Five years of experimentation, expanding methods of composition led nICo to create a piece of work where electronica, downtempo, ritual rhythms, and dub aesthetics converge in a dance of sonic exploration.
This EP invites listeners to pay attention to its textures: the hypnotic grooves and pulsating rhythms of "The Red Sun", the evocative atmospheres of "The Old City", the dub-infused beats of “Saturation Dub”, where layers of sound create depth and intensity, and finally the introspective acid arpeggios of “Visions”.

A few key pieces of gear were key to shaping the sound of the EP: the Nord Drum 3 is at the base of all the tracks, while the Roland JU06 and Behringer Crave synths combined with reverbs and echoes bring an immersive feel, adding further colour and emotions.

Milan-based electronic music producer nICo unveiled his debut solo EP, "Unexplored Earths" on label Estuary Tapes in May 2024. After several weeks of work, the label is proud to unveil the remixed edition, featuring contributions from several prominent names in the electronic scene : MR TC, Michal Turtle, Steve Pepe, A-Tweed and Oltrefuturo.
These new versions of nICo's tracks bring another dimension to the EP with a much more dub-oriented approach. MR TC and Michal Turtle's remixes sound like an ode to introspection, while A-Tweed, Oltrefuturo, and Steve Pepe deliver two gems crafted for the dancefloor.

Celebrating 40 years of electronic music exploration this year saw the re-release of three seminal works by Bernard Fevre (aka Black Devil),  'Suspense' (1975), 'Cosmos 2043' (1977) and the storied 'Disco Club' (1978). Completing this anniversary year Fevre now returns with three EPs featuring new remixes of his 1978 underground cosmic disco hit 'H Friend' from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, GoldFFinch, Turzi and many more.
 
The first EP (released 13 November) is aimed directly at the dancefloor with remixes from Berlin based duo Africaine 808, French Psychedelic Space Rocker Turzi), Sao Paulo’s DJ Tide, and last but not least world famous British Acid House DJ & producer Andrew Weatherall, who contributes the first of two remixes.
 
The second EP (released 27 November) makes more use of the re-recorded vocals by British singer Jo Apps and features remixes from Adelaide based Luke Million, Belgian Techno duo GoldFFinch, Anglo-French rising stars Loframes and the second of Andrew Weatherall’s remixes.
 
The final EP (released 11 December) is especially dedicated to Japan. 45 years after touring the country with his first band Francs Garçons, Bernard returned to Japan in 2015 for his first solo tour of Japan and was amazed by the music a new generation of artists were creating. Featuring remixes from Carpainter, Oorutaichi, Free Disco Permanent Midnight and Sparrows (the solo project of CRYSTAL’s Ryota Miyake), it’s a wildly eclectic set of remixes that perfectly finishes off this set.
 
A pioneering member of France’s electronic music scene in the 1970s, Fevre’s career entered a new phase in the early ‘00s when his ‘Disco Club’ album was rediscovered and reissued by Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) on his Rephlex label. Since then Fevre has gone on to be sampled by the likes of the Chemical Brothers   and released several new albums on Lo Recordings collaborating with artists such as Jon Spencer, Afrika Bambaataa, Nancy Sinatra, Faris Badwan (The Horrors), Mondkopf and Daniel Avery.

First up it's Juliane Wolf from Germany, a Robert Babicz protege who has recently already remixed Sounom for our Cinematique label, followed by Jaramillo from Ecuador who has already appeared on our Manual Music label before and makes his return as a long lost son :) For the third track we welcome a new name to the label; Clameres from Moscow, Russia. Then it's time for well known name Fractal Architect to serve up the goods again, and to finish things in style we welcome Mark Höffen from France who also appeared on our Cinematique label with a remix earlier this year.

For years Nathan Church has been cutting up floors in his native Bilbao. Recently the Basque man’s attention has turned from the Dj booth to the studio. Under his WLDV (We Love Dolce Vita) this Iberian electronic inspiration has cast long shadows and brightened rooms with his blend of horror score intensity and disco exuberance. WLDV arrives at the Bordello with a four tracker of serious intent. Sepulchral and sinister synthlines characterise A Dying Feast, nowhere more than in the haunting samples and clean drums of “A Bucket of Blood”. Cold chords gleam with icy menace while crisp claps punctuate the entrancing funk of “Danza Macabra”. Ecclesia toys with set parameters, exploring what lurks in the twilight between terror and titillation. This flirtation with the divine and the profane is plain to hear in the uneasy elegance and uplifting elation of “Far, Far Away”, a work of steady kicks, unsettling extracts and soaring strings. This “feast” ends on a delectable note. Keys dance and spiral in the intoxicating “Laying Down On Cosmic Dust”, an enthralling end to and enthralling EP.

It's time for "Assembly 09". Aaryon & MOii teamed up for a driving techno gem with some deep diving sounds. Berlin based Robine comes up with a catchy peaktime tune with a memorable main melody. Last but least Hamburg based Greene made a fantastic and moody tune with biting synth shots and a dramatic atmosphere.
