While she has been in the scene for almost 2 decades, Winnipeg’s elle fast didn’t start DJing until about 2 years ago (amazingly!). Her mature, unique sound is emotive, eclectic and groovy.  

Elle fast is very active in the Winnipeg underground scene through her involvement in the Symptom Technologies collaborative, and in spinning at innumerable parties at venues around the city. She has been active out-of-province as well, performing at the last installment of Connect Festival, Saskatchewan, summer of 2017. 

We asked elle fast recently what she gets out of DJ’ing: “Connection... it’s an amazing feeling to have a direct line into people’s hearts and brains. One of my favourite things in life is digging for music, so I feel like this is a way I can share that experience with others. For live performances, you are the facilitator of this crazy, powerful joint experience. When everything gels, it feels like the universe lines up for a moment.” 

We at Institution are very grateful for this fantastic journey of melodic, progressive techno. Set some time aside to float away to these sounds of Winnipeg’s elle fast. ❤️

Marek’s vocal and acoustic guitar were recorded on November 22nd, 2007. Otherwise, the track was recorded and produced over the Winter and Spring of 2010.

Hypernashion ft. Marek Ring - Dead City (2020 Remastered Version)

Hypernashion began in the Spring of 2006, when Arturo and DJ Max started working on a remake of Perfect’s “Autobiografia”. On January 13th, 2007 Hypernashion’s track “Ciemne Pola” (Dark Fields) aired on a Winnipeg radio station CKJS. In August 2007 an EP with the first six tracks produced by Hypernashion - “Płomień” (Flame) was released. Since the Fall of 2007 other musicians became involved with the project.
