@tooslowtodisco's Sunset Manifesto is the project which just keeps on giving. The original album has become a genre classic whilst its spin off singles, remixes and 12"s have delivered some of the finest Nu Disco that the genre has seen to date. And so it is yet again with their latest single release @kimchiimusic's 'Windsurf' with huge LV favourite @Anoraak on the remix. 

Anoraak is an artist at the absolute top of his game and here he has delivered a sultry sun soaked panacea for 2021. The wonderfully hypnotic and evocative vocal sits across delightfully smooth, synths, a warm and inviting bass line. Eastern edges combine with ayers of vocal harmonies to add perfect momentum to a track which wants to put its arms around you and tell you that everything will be OK. The first of two remixes of Athenian DJ/producer NTEIBINT's latest single 'True' arrives from legendary French producer Boombass of Cassius and La Funk Mob fame. He delivers a firing-on-all-cylinders acid remix, guaranteed to kickstart any party.

Deceptively starting off with the track’s chorus looped over a romantic orchestral swell, the remix quickly shifts gear as it explodes into a riot of twisted acidic squelches, 909 snares, kicks and toms before Boombass brings it all together, the increasingly tortured 303 juxtaposed with the sumptuous vocals and strings, for maximum effect.

“I’m really proud to be part of this release,” explains Boombass. “I had a great fun to mix the acid culture with a symphonic spirit, it’s like getting high in silk suit!”

Lifted from their 2019-released album ‘Pleasure Centre’, Kraak & Smaak’s single ’Same Blood’ featuring Los Angeles-based duo The Palms is making a timely comeback in this second half of summer, enhanced by a quartet of surefire reworks courtesy of Norwegian nu-disco don Prins Thomas and True Romance head honcho, Tensnake.

A lavishly orchestrated indie disco-pop number, ‘Same Blood’ casts a spell of Californian summer upon the dancefloor with its coastal sunset-ish atmosphere, understated psychedelia and welcoming zero-G dreaminess that’s become a trademark of The Palms’ wistful musical imaginarium.

Adding his club-optimised twist to the tune, Hamburg-based house escapist Tensnake unbridles the groove and tunes up the engines to develop the original mix's DJ-friendly potential to the full. Calibrated to grab the dancers and not let loose on them till the lights have gone off, both the short edit and extended version talk the most sensual body language and are primed to excel in transient moments, whether the sun is going up or down.

Lulling us to a brightly hued utopia of hybrid disco-rock and faded early-days house, Nordic wizard Prins Thomas’ further lushly ornamented takes embark us on a trip down memory lane, with its funky slap bass, chromatic pads and soft bugle calls holding the rank of time-travelling vehicle. A total treat for the feet and senses, the classic ‘diskomiks’ treatment doesn’t disappoint, be it the vocal version which gracefully incorporates The Palms’ enticing singing into a further spacious, kosmische-tinged environment, or the instrumental one, which allows Prins Thomas’ widescreen production process to be fully underlined and the listener to lose himself in between tight-knit beds of complex melodic lines. Sail off to another dimension.
