i've been writing songs for decades now,and i've hit a point where i often just want to write the most simple, paired down , clear and truthful thing possible.
i was breast fed on john lennon ...when thinking of him, i marvel at the idea of actually SAYING SOMETHING...it sounds silly, but it's very easy to say nothing in a song...so often lyrics are just decorative,and these days i'm thinking a lot about being more than 'pretty' with the words.
the idea of laying myself on the line and finding the deepest, yet most simple common ground between me and you the listener, is all important.
