There isn’t really anyone that sounds like Samuel Kerridge. A singular artist with a true and brutalist vision of club catharsis, his is a blend of bleakest atmosphere and exploded blast-beat weight that toils through acres of distortion till it reaches the floor. So far his music has found fitting homes in Karl O’Connor’s Downwards, James Ruskin’s Blueprint and the shadowy world of Horizontal Ground. Kerridge’s next move, inevitably, is to do things his own way. His 2nd album, Always Offended Never Ashamed will inaugurate his new label, Contort Records in early 2015. Named after the now-infamous parties he runs in Berlin with his wife Hayley, it promises electronic music from the very edge.

This exclusive mix for Crack sees Kerridge pull together droning swamps of noise, ten-tonne percussion and drowning seas of bass into just under an hour of relentless turbulence. After an incredible CLOSE Tour in Paris, Glasgow and London we are leading into another crazy week, the annual Amsterdam ADE conference.  This year is a special one for me as I’ll be doing a special extended set on Friday October 19th  for Loveland's new All-Nighters concept at Warehouse Houthavens, which gives me plenty of time to weave in and out of lots of special sounds, frequencies and rhythms.  To get you through the week here is the recording of my BPM festival set from just a few weeks ago, which will surely get you in the mood and give you a taste of what to expect on Friday night!

With several gigs at Breakfast Club Amsterdam, Drift, About Blank and Tresor (to name a few) it's safe to say that the Amsterdam-based @caim-records is no new face to the electronic music scene. The duo founded a label and released 3 astounding EP's, of which the tracks can be heard in numerous DJ sets of various artists. One of the members recently stepped back from DJ-ing but is still involved in the label and music-making. Luckily the other member was able to record this smooth and dreamy podcast for us and we're extremely happy to add Caim to the WAS Series.
