This second instalment records the soundtrack to an exciting journey, in one of the world's most beautiful places, a journey back in time, to those unique, intimate events, which create a lifetime of memories. 

Organised by some of North Africa's most talented promoters, in a spectacular valley at the edge of the Great Eastern Sand Sea, Tembaine's first edition will stay engraved in the memories of all those who attended, and which undoubtedly yearn to return. Friends, see you next year.

Recording #002 - Cross End at Tembaine, Sahara Tunisia

Halloween is always a special affair for Londoners - a night where creation is at the forefront of an entire city - harnessed to its full potential by Boneca's Halloween weekend extravagenza.

Head honcho @crossend had the privilege to return to this institution this year playing alongside partner in crime Majdo and opening for &Me and Rampa. 

This set gathers the soundtracks to this very special weekend. Part 1 is a record of Cross End's opening set on Saturday. Part 2 was recorded by Cross End at a later private event, a natural progression, consistent with the inspiring dynamic interactions and festive musical direction of a Halloween in London.

It's been a very long time since the last Tortuga. I have been busy working on producing tracks in the past few months (which I will upload soon). I've gathered some of my favourite tracks of the the last 6 months for this mix. As you'll see it slightly harder than usual. I hope you like it!

The Tortuga Podcast No 25

Our recording series is an ad hoc project, which captures very special moments we shared with friends.

This third instalment records the second half of our head honcho @CrossEnd 's opening set at Boneca w/ @MaceoPlex at Porchester Hall in Notting Hill London.

This recording brings three journeys full circle - back in time, to Get Lost Miami in March 2011, where Cross End, together with friends (including a future founder of Boneca), witnessed the very first ever performance of Maceo Plex. A recording of one of those special nights, which includes unreleased Crossings material from @BadinBrothers , @SwannDecamme, @OktaveMusik and @Endless.nl.

Recording 003 - Cross End @ Boneca London w/ Maceo Plex

Our recording series is an ad hoc project, which captures special moments we shared with dear friends.

Habibi is a place of legends, an intimate underground venue, which is run by, and brings together pioneers of the Tunisian underground techno and house scene, alumni of The Plug, HYPE and Art Fair.

It is the home to DA CHE's House of Habibi residency, an inclusive gathering of music lovers, curators, actors of the local underground music scene and friends.  A night where artists can play freely to a friendly and sophisticated crowd and take risks, to develop their ideas, sound and unique identity. 

This recording is the soundtrack to a night in Gammarth, a reunion of dear friends,  with a shared passion for house music, a cycle which started with a Renaissance CD, a night at The End and a shared history that comes full circle.

The Tortuga Podcast No 24

As a taster for the 2k13 season here is a new mix from one of our residents Leith.

This year we'll be showcasing our usual combination of fresh music, original set up and state of the art soundsystem in three different locations. 

Our first event - Tale of Us - will take place on the beach of the Nahrawess hotel in Hammamet - a breathtaking venue with both seaview and swimming pool. Our second event - Amirali - will take place on Sunday 30 June Ecovillage in Sousse, a very unique venue which fits perfectly with our 2k13 theme. 
As you can see, we also changed the opening times starting slightly later and finishing at 1am making the HYPE experience last a bit longer.
As you would have noticed, this year's theme is our beloved continent - Africa. Feel free to match you dress to the theme!
Expect the usual authentic atmosphere alongside numerous surprises!

Cross End is a London based Tunisian electronic music DJ, producer, radio host and head honcho and A&R of Crossings, an atypical London based label which provides a platform for local heroes from around the globe and their communities to interact and grow. 

An excellent producer with releases on institutions such as Traum Schallplatten, and his own Crossings imprint, Cross End is first and foremost a DJ and curator, with north of 100 recorded mixes. 

It is difficult to talk about the Tunisian underground music scene without mentioning Cross End. He is one the main guys behind remarkable events such as HYPE and Art Fair, some of the most recognised and respected house and techno events in North Africa, as well as Tortuga in London and Cult in Paris.

He shares his passion for music on the Tortuga Podcast, Crossings and HYPE, amongst other platforms, hosted monthly radio shows alongside Unleash London residents, Daylomar, on Medelina radio, and curates the Crossings monthly radio show on Proton radio since September 2018. 

People are drawn into his beautiful sets, which have been witnessed around the globe at places such as WMC Miami, Privilege Ibiza, Unleash and Boneca London, Queen and Faust Paris, Off Sonar Barcelona, The Garten Beirut, HYPE, Naboo and Ephemere Tunisia - and alongside the likes of DJ Koze, Ame, Dixon, David August, Hernan Cattaneo, Tale of Us, Bedouin and Martin Buttrich.
