The 6th EP from Lee Gamble’s UIQ imprint comes ‘live coded’ from Renick Bell's generative music system...

Renick is a computer musician, programmer, and teacher living in Tokyo, Japan. He is a graduate of the doctoral program at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan. His current research interests are live coding, improvisation, and algorithmic composition using open source software. He is the author of Conductive, a library for live coding in the Haskell programming language.

The records design and EP track names, like the music, are algorithmic. They are generated using the ancient Chinese ‘Book of Changes ‘ the ‘I Ching’

Lee Gamble’s UIQ welcomes Sim Hutchins to the hyperprism with Vantablank Stare, an insightful A/V project born from a personal discontent with the vacuous repetition of 24 hour rolling news coverage, and presenting a critical response to, in his own words; "the daily bombardment of news items on corruption and our societal inclination." The video comes as an embed code / website which runs the entirety of the record on loop. Language translations are switchable between English, Russian and Arabic.

When living and not-living things and souls interact - how does it look like? Can we comprehend it? Can we feel it physically? How do they merge together, how do they blend and remix each other? How does this process sound? Is it the ritual of the spring, the mental freshness? Is it ancient consciousness being scanned and repeated again and again in an infinite loop - just being improved every single time these entities sways each other? Or maybe they harm and limit each other that something in another dimension can grow and multiply. 
You can call it the flow of time. The natural selection maybe. But in the natural selection one side always dies. We call it friendship that every unit can live forever.
