Now that the entire Vacanza crew has introduced themselves on our weekly radiocast, there is no better way to end this year with the first mix from an external artist. Therefore we invited apøllo from Leipzig, who only moved here about two years ago and immediately fell in love with the city and felt at home in its parties and the club scene. These impressions were basically one of the reasons and motivation to start mixing music on her own, instead of just being an aux cable DJ. You know the deal. 
 
As part of Leipzig's very own Apostrophé crew, you may have already noticed her playing at a few open airs in the summer of 2020 and '21 just before the lockdown. But wait, there’s more! She also played at Pittlerwerke at a venue held by Apostrophé and spend some evenings behind decks in Leipzig’s famous OstXXX such as one of the Flinta * parties organized by fem*vak. That's where she developed her sound and was introduced even further into the scene. apøllo describes her music as Dark, but Melodic Techno with Soul. Now we are very curious about what to expect!

I love this style from the end of the last millennium – ravey, emotional, and a hard kick. Discovering these over 20 years old tracks has been the biggest revelation in electronic music in a while for me. I started mixing simply because I wanted to hear them being played on a big sound system at last, and maybe even let a couple of ravers enjoy as well.

Thanks to Kiez Burn for giving the space and opportunity to play some classics I love, thanks to my UnderWorld family for the support, and thanks to past me for pushing me to do this.

Raphael Buenaventura - Shadow Culture (Hey Jose Remix) form the Shadow Culture EP on Kollektives Bewusstsein

Shadow Culture is the first release of Raphael Buenaventura after seven years of involvement as DJ and event producer in Berlin. The EP is touching deeper psychological issues related to humanity's quest for liberation, using the power of heavy bass and distorted drums and mind-bending synths, drawing influences from industrial and rave culture that shaped his view on music as a motor for change in society and lead to first experimental productions in the late 90ies.

“Shadow Culture” - the central track of the EP with its uncompromising kick, harsch distorted drums and a sometimes hidden but always present acid bassline. It is about the culture in the shadows that forms a global network of people developing and living alternatives to the dying capitalist lifestyle. 

The remix of “Shadow Culture” by Hey Joe with its intelligent structure and driving beat brings this issue more into the light of consciousness and to modern-day dancefloors.

Doom Rec is back friday 26 september with « Doing Selling », new single of duo from Berlin : Crille & Tamalt

A repetitive slow tekk piece with rave accents, composed around a vocal sample of Mind Sensations (a 1994 track of System's 01).

The remix (a kind of chill out zone version) was made by french dj Fatma Pneumonia. Organizer of Chug Rave party's and co-founder of label/collective High Heal

Mastering has been entrusted to argentinian producer Balam (Hard Fist, Multi Culti ...) and cover (combining 3d, texture work and graphic-design) to label owner @andreskomatsu
