Eclipse

Infa Red Recordings present their second release by Copenhagen-based artist Muskila, a nimble two-tracker that follows on perfectly from Bluetoof’s debut for the label earlier this year.

The title track ‘Bateekh’ is a heavily percussive roller, which teams up a combination of traditional darbuka drums and driving breakbeats, the former an ode to Muskila’s roots. His heritage is further echoed in the titling of the release, which translates to “watermelon”, a symbol of the resistance of the Palestinian people.

The B-side ‘Hayvan’ compliments the title track with similar percussive rhythms, this time set at a more scatterbrained 150bpm, with deranged, evolving melodies that build to a huge crescendo of drums before settling into a satisfyingly dubby lull.

After taking a break in 2023, Velax returned strongly at the beginning of this year, as demonstrated in his release with Local Suicide on Iptamenos Discos. Tokyo-based producer/dj SEIMEI makes his Sorry Records debut with four slamming tracks touching on techno, breaks, robot vocal electro, and party rocking house. Only the second Sorry Records release from a non-US based artist in our nearly ten years of existence, Seimei's Tokyo Funky Breaks EP features a slammin remix from Seimei's brother and fellow young Japanese legend Carpainter in addition to a bonkers Florida Breaks remix from our friend and Baltimore-born, Brooklyn-based club music star JIALING (a.k.a. BIG J).

Co-founder of seminal Japanese dance music collective/label TREKKIE TRAX, Seimei has been a tireless force in the Japanese dance underground for over a decade now. TREKKIE TRAX's catalog is absolutely massive -- 190 releases and counting, over 800 tracks of all shapes and sizes released with DIY care and love over the last 10 years. Seimei's productions have been released on superb labels like Moveltraxx, WET TRAX, Midnight Cult, Top Billin Music, Akihabara Heavy Industry Inc. He's remixed Japanese techno legend Ken Ishii, done guest mixes for both Hessle Audio, LUCKYME® on Rinse FM, and Mix Up Exclusives on triple J presented by Nina Las Vegas.

Seimei also runs a monthly radio program ‘TREKKIE TRAX RADIO’ on the Japanese biggest dance music radio station ‘Block.fm’ and has a residency on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM.

It’s a mean streak of the fetid and unfettered – no messing, just a trio of malevolent excursions with added texture.

Our next VA pulls threads from Manchester, Lyon, New York, and Bristol; a cross-continental snapshot of the sounds shaping our world right now.

It opens in the shadows, with Steel Traxx and Product Toss delivering slow, murky cuts that set the foundation: heavy, cracked, and full of tension.

Things begin to shift as Manami, Maelita, and Mattik push into bass-driven territory. Low ends are refracted through their own lenses, building pressure and colour as the record unfolds.


The tone lifts as Sempra delivers UK-funky flair, all bright percussion and magical flute runs cutting through the weight. From there, disctr4k brings bumpy NY-garage-flavoured house, full of swing and cheeky momentum, before Direct Function closes the journey with warm, dub-soaked atmospheres that linger long after the final note.

A full-spectrum Skiptrace release — built from community, curiosity, and shared movement.
