To kick-off our podcast series AHIL, founder and resident of Hypnosis, will guide you through some mesmerizing and brain-melting techno. This 2 hour mix of stripped down deep, hypnotic and rhythmical techno will tickle all of your senses in a way you won’t easily forget.

“In this mix I’ve tried to highlight several aspects of what the more club-orientated side of the concept Hypnosis represents. 

Starting the mix of with some organic and tribal rhythms to get your mind into a meditative state, before diving deep into a warm bath of low frequencies. Close your eyes and let the captivating music guide you through your imagination. During the second hour pulsating rhythms and tense hypnotic elements are assembled in a way that the warm bath will transform into a raging sea of trippy tides.

HYPNOSIS 001 AHIL

For our second instalment we’ve invited SUNYATA, a DJ and visual artist from Latvia. 

Some words by her about this mix:
“When I record a mix for me its usually very intuitive. I just select the tracks that resonate with my mood in the moment, and then experiment with mixing them with each other.  I also like when there is a slower and faster progression in the mix. When I play music, I get into some sort of void in my mind or a story which doesn’t need any words to be told. 

For me playing hypnotic techno is a calming meditation practice, and this is a state I wish to share with other people.”

Expect a shamanistic experience that will enhance your body and mind through organic percussions, tribal vibes and deep frequencies.

HYPNOSIS 002 ŚŪNYATĀ

For our third instalment we’ve invited Akcel, a Greek DJ based in Amsterdam and part of the Ypnotika crew.

Some words by Akcel about this mix:
"This podcast is a dark, deep and hypnotic journey that aims to take the listener on an immersive experience. Through my music, I intend to create a space for exploration where the listener can let go of their inhibitions and delve into Hypnosis. 

The sounds, the rhythms and the patterns found in nature can be reflected in the music I’m sharing. The link between nature and music is a powerful one, which can arouse powerful emotions and transport us to another place and time."

Expect an auditory experience that invites the listener to explore their inner psyche and embrace the power of dark and hypnotic rhythms.

HYPNOSIS 003 AKCEL

For our fourth instalment we’ve invited Trøm Borg, a Norwegian DJ based in Amsterdam and co-founder of the event series Retur_AMS.

After already having a deep love and fascination for anything music during his early twenties, he really discovered his passion for techno when he moved from the Norwegian countryside to Oslo and became a regular visitor of its clubbing scene. A few years later he moved to Amsterdam, where he started his own musical journey. He learned a lot during those first years, which eventually brought him closer to himself and deeper into the deep techno scene where he found his home. 

With releases on Deflection Music, Profundo Collective and Ancestral Process he has made a name for himself over the past years.

Expect a very well-crafted mix which will take you on a journey through raw and mystic Nordic soundscapes. Opening with some gorgeous rhythms slowly evolving into a deep techno mix, which will bring your body and mind into a state of Hypnosis.

HYPNOSIS 004 TRØM BORG

For our fifth instalment we’ve invited HOD, a very talented Colombian DJ and producer. 

Hod is a concept that arises from the belief in the liberating power of sound that seeks to generate a contrast with marked percussive elements and deep harmonies that are consistent with the existing polarity and energy balance. This balance involves a complete relationship with natural elements and the use of these as tools of artistic expression from the symbolic and expressive force of each sound, each element, each frequency that gives the artist the ability to interpret a story that transcends the collective surrealist interpretation, the ritual. 

With releases on Secuencias temporales, Deflection music, Kvlto, Profundo Collective, Circular limited, Khoros he has made a name for himself over the past years.

Expect a very well-balanced mix, starting of with some tribal influensed techno slowly building it's way into a more hypnotic and trippy second half.

For our sixth instalment we’ve invited Kein.Kontrast, a talented German DJ.

Kein.Kontrast is a project of passion out of love for the beat. The focus of his musical compositions are on a deep and hypnotic level, in which he is creating an atmosphere that offers space for our mind. 

Through this mix, he wants to offer the opportunity to immerse yourself into a world in which you briefly forget about space and time.

HYPNOSIS 006 KEIN.KONTRAST

For our seventh instalment we’ve invited Wispelturig, a talented DJ based in Amterdam and member of the SKIN collective.

Wispelturig’s sets are dark and evolving, full of mystery and subtleties. From time to time she’ll let you lean into hopeful waves of sound, creating a vibe with both ambient and rhythmical sounds. Whenever she records a mix she likes to take a ‘natural’ approach, things just need to unfold and happen. In that way magical moments can appear.

The music she plays is clearly inspired by nature. She loves ambient and organic sounds that give you the feeling you are lost in a dark and mysterious forest.

“This podcast definitely got me into that dark forest mood again. You will hear the birds singing while mystery takes over. You're lost, but you reach an open field and come to peace with your situation. You will experience the beauty, the troms, the percussion. This place has a rhythm. You will think about your life and sometimes a heavy feeling takes over. Darkness comes and goes. It's dark, for sure. But sometimes it seems brighter. You can lean in and be okay. You know the sun will rise in the end. Every time again. “

HYPNOSIS 007 WISPELTURIG

For our eight instalment we’ve invited XÂRTE, a talented young DJ coming from the Netherlands.

His musical journey started at the end of 2020 after a music-filled summer with friends. He started digging deeper into the world of techno before he eventually decided to get himself some gear and started DJing. Since that day his musical progress has graced renowned venues like BASIS and The Melkweg, and he's caught the attention of organizations like ALU and Ypnotika.  

His sound is a captivating blend of rhythms and deep, abstract textures, and by layering records, they craft a vibe that immerses the dance floor in an unforgettable musical experience.

Some words by XÂRTE about his mix:
This set is a musical journey inspired by my unforgettable visit to Draaimolen festival this year. The Aura stage was a captivating realm where numerous DJs left an indelible mark on my soul. The fusion of lights, ambiance, and the music, reached deep into my body and provoked some emotions within me.

Among the remarkable performances, the influence of Arkajo and Dorisburg's set stands out most prominent. Their music resonated with me in a unique way, leaving an imprint on my creative spirit that I couldn't ignore. 

This set is a tribute to the magic of what happend at Draaimolen festival, and in patricular that night in the forest at the stage called Aura.

HYPNOSIS 008 XÂRTE

For our ninth instalment we’ve invited Nikos, a talented DJ, producer and event organizer from the Netherlands.

He is known for incorporating lots of organic percussions, crazy textures, and trippy synths in his live and DJ-sets. Playing at clubs like Radio Radio, POING, and performing for organizations like Traumgarten and Conflux. 

Some words by Nikos about his mix:
I wanted to incorporate different sounds that will remind the listener of nature. If you listen closely you’ll hear sounds that are familiar to wood, water drops and subtle animal noises. This mix consists only music created by myself, which I’ll usually use during my livesets and sometimes in my DJ-sets. 

The mix starts subtle with soft bells to calm the mind, moves to atmospheric tracks and then propels into more trippy techno before ending again with melancholic chords and a repetitive but soft rhythms.

HYPNOSIS 009 NIKOS

For our tenth instalment we’ve invited Jephta, a highly talented DJ from Amsterdam.
 
Jefta Wattimena, also known as Jephta, is a Dutch DJ based in Amsterdam and a resident of the Rotterdam-based organization Embodiment. His style is a hypnotic and immersive blend of driving and experimental elements. 

He firmly believes in supporting local communities and has already had the opportunity to play major festivals, acclaimed clubs, and community events throughout the Netherlands.

Aspiring to discover different scenes and cultures, Jephta is on a journey to expand his reach to the global music landscape.

Some words by Jephta about this mix:
Last year's rhytmic adventure led me to a new found passion for all sorts of break orientated sounds. 

To solidify this passion, I decided to compose a full-on dark drum 'n bass and halftime mix, consisting of my current favourite artists and labels of the genres.

HYPNOSIS 010 JEPHTA

For our 11th instalment we've invited Imox, a Barcelona based DJ and co-founder of Sub Radio. 

Her sound transports us to the atmospheres and natural landscapes of the island of her childhood, accompanied by hypnotic grooves, tribal elements and cosmic textures, a progressive journey through unknown dimensions with overwhelming intensity.

This one-hour mix is a recording of her opening the night before the italian wizard Donato Dozzy at Human Club Barcelona. 

'A lot of inspiration for this set comes from the great maestro Dozzy, although I also tried to follow my instinct and feelings of the moment to create it with my personal touch' is what Luna said about this opening.

HYPNOSIS 011 IMOX

For our 12th instalment we've invited Medha, a Leipzig based DJ. Besides DJing she is an event organizer at and member of the PVC Collective, and a co-host for the event series aequelis at Ifz.

Her inspiration for music is influenced by the Berlin and Leipzig club culture and scene. She plays a style that can be characterised by concise basslines and rougher elements, combined with deep and driving rhythms. 

Over the last years she has played in clubs such as Tresor Berlin, Ifz Leipzig, Sirococlub Madrid and Subradio in Barcelona.

“When I put together this mix, I wanted it to capture the essence of spring arriving. Each track was chosen to reflect the feeling of anticipation and renewal that comes with this season for me personally. I hoped that listening to it would make others feel like spring was just around the corner, bringing with it a sense of freshness and energy but still with the deepness of hypnotic techno.”
