Now situating themselves in the infamous techno mecca that is Berlin. Since then their sound and taste have taken huge leaps since leaving Sydney and with a podcast that is now garnering massive local respect and nearing the half century mark, it is was a simple call for the HYPNO team to be able to showcase this finesse laden mix from a real future talent within the underground scene that keeps on thriving.

A very special edition of HYPNO sounds is here as one of Eora's techno finest techno purveyors graces the HYPNO airwaves with a special live recorded set from one of Eora's very own secret tunnels. 

This hour explores the more darker moody side of HYPNO's sound.
It's a straightforward techno assault that comprises itself of rugged rhythms and harsh plucks that steers it's listeners to the boiling point of tension.

HYPNO SOUNDS – VOL. 4

For this edition of HYPNO sounds we are delighted to welcome another international to the roster. Hailing from Brazil, brace yourselves for an hour of cascading rhythms that show absolutely no mercy as it surgically weaves it's detailed groove in & out all while giving it's listeners no time to even think as the mixer quickly gears up their next track for immediate impact.

Inspired by the dirty rawness of old school techno and the hypnotic vibes of more contemporary tracks, he decided to pursue his newfound passion by DJing at small events in his hometown. Today, he is a producer, gaining renown through his own personal label NCLS as well as through releases on groove-focused techno labels such as Syxt Berlin, Drawner records, Malör Records, ESP Collective and Mutual Rytm. Played by techno DJs worldwide, their tracks can be found in mixes by notable artists such as Rødhåd, Ben Sims, Rene Wise and many others.

HYPNO SOUNDS – VOL. 5

HYPNO sounds has finally returned to the airwaves once again for a special HYPNO Sundays edition. We’re back with yet another international groove maestro. A fast rising talent and someone who is continuously carving their craft to it’s most peculiar detail. There is seemingly no end to this artist’s quest for undeniable respect from his peers and colleagues who are continuously supporting his pounding 4 to the floor percussive weapons that immediately serve an instant collision to any dance floor they are heard on.

HYPNO SOUNDS – VOL. 8

After a brief hiatus, HYPNO Sounds' pulsating rhythms are back on the airwaves. In anticipation of our VOL 9.0 soirée, our latest mix comes from across the Atlantic, landing right in Miami, USA.

Known for fostering and pushing local talent, as well as founding the local Romanticos Collective—which has already hosted hypnotic staples like Rene Wise and Arthur Robert—this mix captures the hypnotic swing we champion at HYPNO. Fresh off previously warming up for Marr⌀n, it is minimal in essence but maximal in effect—just the way we like it.

In their own words: "With influences from diverse genres such as jazz, drum and bass, classical, house, trance, and Latin music, we explore rhythm, percussion, and the unknown through the sounds of hypnotic techno."

As the dust settles after our turbulent VOL 9.0 warehouse soiree' and we prepare for our Chinese Laundry takeover this Saturday on the 3rd of August, we wanted to share our first ever live recording to grace the HYPNO sounds airwaves.

An active force within the Sydney/Eora techno scene, with a plethora of heavyweight supports and their own esteemed collective, this artist captivated ravers from the moment they pushed the fader up. This full-bodied closing is no different. Expect a two-hour barrage of raw percussion, bewitching loops, and brain-searing tension, all woven together to create a poetic finale to cap off our incredible VOL 9.0 secret location party.

HYPNO VOL. 9.0 – LIVE RECORDING

Our 10th installment of HYPNO Sounds has arrived! Prepare for a relentless hour of full-throttle hardgroove artillery, delivered by one of Australia’s finest techno exports. This masterful journey pays homage to the defining 2000s techno blueprint that revolutionized the genre as we know it today.

As our second dance with Marr⌀n fastly approaches, we’re excited to unveil a distinct HYPNO sounds episode. Coming straight from Ireland, this 1hr & 20 minute mix is pronounced with slick grooves, mind bending tension and vivid atmospheres that simply build and build to its unforgettable finale.

Looking to showcase their vision of techno in a country where nightlife has been starved of liberties and continues to battle government oppression—much like Sydney during its lockout laws—the Emerald Isle is brimming with talent and passion for techno. This artist contributes to their local scene through their own label, Circuit Structure Records, founded in 2022, which features classy self-released EPs alongside work from both local and international talent.

HYPNO SOUNDS – VOL. 11

Thank you to everyone who came out to VOL 11 - Marr⌀n. What a fantastic way to wrap up 2024! The night was nothing short of amazing, and we’re so grateful for the love and kind words from our community.

To start 2025, we’re sharing a beautiful sonical journey from one of the selectors of from our VOL 11 - Marrøn show. 

This artist has supported us since day one and has been an integral part in the formation of our community, so we honestly couldn’t be prouder to support them in their creative expression, that ties perfectly into HYPNO’s sound philosophy. This set was a true masterclass in storytelling, starting with lush ambience that slowly blossoms into an unforgettable mix of atmospheric textures and closes off with delicate pulsating rhythms a perfect opening to that unforgettable evening. A proper nod to the craft of opening sets, which is becoming a rare skill in modern day techno.

Also, yes, as you may be able to tell this was indeed the opening set.. but as always, we’ll keep their name anonymous.

HYPNO SOUNDS - VOL 11. LIVE RECORDING

As 2025 unfolds and we move towards our first show of the year with Ignez, joined by our good friends Undisclosed (@undisclosedaus) and New School (@newschool.aus), we also mark the return of HYPNO Sounds, with a special collab edition. 

For this episode, we present a mix that perfectly embodies the spirit of the event — an immersive soundtrack rich with depth, tension, and flow.

Crafted by a boundary-pushing Australian artist, the mix explores the raw textures of hypnotic techno while carrying a sense of grace throughout. With nods to the mid-2010s of techno (a forgotten goldmine of hypnotic techno), this mix flings you into orbit with an impeccable assortment of 1AM hazy dance-floor, heads-down goodness (you know what I mean...) 

About the artist: 

Their devotion to a particular sound and approach has driven their ability to grow rapidly since entering the scene just a few years ago, and it is this obsession that will continue to allow them to blossom. They're an artist to watch by all accounts, and whether it’s DJing or producing, they will always be emerging as an essential feature of Australia.

HYPNO SOUNDS – VOL. 13

For this HYPNO Sounds, we’re venturing into new terrain – still hypnotic, but warped into psychedelic territory, as we edge closer to VOL.14 with Hitam.
Lovefromsoph, a longtime HYPNO mainstay, has been part of our journey since day one. Usually known for her signature hypnotic drive that's synonymous with our core sound, this time she’s shifted gears – delivering a gorgeous, wiggly wormhole of sound to set the tone for Hitam’s shamanic four-hour ritual on November 22nd.

Just over an hour of shimmering, off-grid grooves that hold their tension just beneath eruption. We’ve wanted to introduce this strain of techno not just on our dance-floors, but through our mix series too – so let it pull you in. 

New territory also brings new-found change. From now on our guest mixes will no longer be anonymous.

Relatively new to DJing and techno production, Kush is already leaving a significant mark locally and abroad. HYPNO SOUNDS VOL.14 LIVE – Kushkusshhh

Entering 2026, we begin with the long-awaited HYPNO Sounds VOL.15 mix. With VOL.16 on the horizon, this felt like the perfect way to set the tone — a local legend currently plying his trade in London.

He has been a pivotal figure in the post-COVID rebuilding of hypnotic techno in Sydney/Eora, helping raise the standard and quality of DJing through his refined taste, expert ear, and ability to move any dancefloor with intention.

That person is none other than Zac Walls - former co-founder of local crew Obfuscate, alongside fellow comrade Ben.

Zac shares a deeply aligned ethos with HYPNO around how techno parties should be run - intentional, respectful, and sound-first. Beyond that, he’s an exceptional mixer and a true staple of the Sydney/Eora scene. 

His style is warm, elastic, and hypnotic, with trippy textures and groove forming the backbone of his journeys. This mix is a perfect example:  refined, intelligent, and deeply immersive.

We’d also like to thank every artist who contributed a mix in 2025. HYPNO Sounds exists to broadcast the local and international journeys that make up the fabric of what HYPNO is. So for all contributions – we thankyou for all your efforts and incredible journeys.
