Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) has hooked up a beat of such electronic magnitude it sounds like Godzilla marching on Westminster. Over it he drops a chorus of deadpan eloquence which acts as the jump off point for DELS and his labelmate Roots Manuva to rip through verses of such venomous intelligence that if anyone ever again says to you that "rappers haven’t got anything to say" you can just grab this CD and slap them round the chops with it. A genuine monster of a tune, as packed with a celebratory spirit of solidarity as it is with anger and defiance, this is a truly important and memorable single from a truly important and memorable album.

In Hour 2 we're joined by BreakBeat Lou, a true legendary figure in hip hop culture. Alongside Lenny Roberts, he co created the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series that provided samples for most of the top Hip Hop producers from DJ Premier, Large Professor, The Bomb Squad, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre and Marley Marl, to J Dilla, Salaam Remi and Just Blaze. They began compiling albums of classic breaks that had been played by Kool Herc and Afrika Bambaataa, but they soon became sample sources for the next generation of producers, often using edits of the tracks done by Lou. The classic Amen break used in Jungle is just one example that appeared early on in this series. We don't have a track list for his mix, but you'll recognise some of them from the UBB series plus plenty more obscure gems from his collection and you can catch him spinning alongside Peanut Butter Wolf on their European tour this week.
