In Greek mythology, Lycaon was the first mythical king of Arcadia.

The myth says that he tried to test Zeus' omniscience by serving him the cooked flesh of Lycaon's own son Nyctimus, in order to see whether Zeus was truly all-knowing.
In return for these gruesome deeds, Zeus transformed Lycaon into a wolf and killed his offspring; Nyctimus was restored to life.

Moreover, there were rumors that in ancient Arcadia, there took place human sacrifices to Lycaeus Zeus, as cannibalistic rituals of a cult which had the wolf as its totem.
In that annual sacrifice to Lycaeus Zeus, a man would transform into a wolf every year, but became a man again if he did not eat human flesh for ten years.

Hypnotica Records is a label based in the dark alleys of the underground Stockholm society in Sweden.
As you might have already figured out we share a passion for the darker and weirder type of psychedelic trance that is inspired from the deep and magical forests of Sweden. After organizing parties since 2001 we wanted to expand our involvement and form a new type of record label to release the music we love the most. We do not go after big names or big profiles. Instead we search the underground lairs for new and talented artist so that we can bring them to the surface and blast you freaks out there to a higher and deeper level of trance experience.
We believe that many artist never get the chance to show what they are capable of doing and we want to be their helping hand. We are able to do this with all the established contact we have made during the years of organizing parties. Even though we mainly focus on the pure underground scene we have also artists that already been established in the psychedelic scene out in the world.
