Through this eclectic selection of artists, Les Ateliers Claus and Kiosk Radio aim to bring a variety of musical genres and shine a different and surprising light on Senyawa’s compositional works. Going from a musique-concrète approach, towards dub, experimental club and dance floor bangers, the Remix LP highlights the timelessness of Senyawa's music.Senyawa's Alkisah was co-released a few weeks ago by 44 independent record labels from all over the globe, in an attempt to decentralise the hierarchical workings of the music industry and its distribution system. Each label partner was given "carte blanche” on artwork, promotion, packaging and number of copies released. @madlubi is a sound searching globetrotter and dj from the very north of Germany, based in Berlin for quite a while now. He’s organizing events and festival stages in the third decade and works quite close with different labels and in everyday life for a record company. So there’s never boredom as the music flies in everyday. He plays regularly at venues like arkaoda and diverse radio stations. His main interests in the wide field of music are folk, ambient, psychedelia, field recordings, jazz, new age, dub, exotics, african and island music. But there are no borders - even some blues records from one hundred years ago can be a lot of fun … everywhere he goes always on the hunt for undiscovered and forgotten gems.

Dekadenz Records was founded in Jakarta by Jonathan Kusuma, Aditya Permana and Ridwan. The label focuses on primitive electronics, synthetic rhythm and metallic beats. Their releases feature producers from Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. This month's episode starts with label host Jonathan Kusuma, who frequently plays all night long at the city's best underground venue, Tuff Club and The Headquarters.

In a twig, there are different splinter points.
From a tower you can fall very high, die.
In the middle of a street, the crowd distorts,
Sometimes flattens out.

The child heard screaming for the first time. From that cry, he tried to imitate he got nothing. He tried every day, positioned himself from the top of his balcony, filled his lungs with air, and tried to scream, but nothing came out of his mouth - the voice was so weak, he barely heard it himself. And yet the cry will cross something, will come back to it by a curious detour. The cry is a mode of crossing: this is how the child crosses space which will lead him to the adult. This still fragile crossing will torture him terribly. The space of childhood is the mastery of the cry, a cry that does not come.

Later the child sketched out a construction: with one noise he made another and from this assembly he founded what he believed to be his voice. This is how he persevered and one day he held in his hand the passing of the scream when it was really something else: curious music of instability. The music allowed him to access what he didn't understand with his own words that never came the way he wanted.
From this frustrated desire, the voice could arise within him - a shy, impossible voice.

In the voice, there is a desire that is annihilated from the moment it resonates elsewhere than in itself. That voice will never be able to shine around him: it just stalled. Nothing could ever untie it from the coating of the sentence. The music in his voice was already doomed to die by his own verbal expression.

As he was about to die the child decided that he was done with this frantic search for the voice and that he would rather forget the cry forever. If he could neither speak nor scream then he still preferred that we forget him and his voice, him and his cry that never came.

So he looked down at the crowd
And from the top of the tower
He jumped.

This time he cried out
But never could talk.

A thousand kilometers away a child was playing with a twig
And between his two fingers
Broke it.

Anna Vs June is the solo project of Anna Papaioannou, a girl who enjoys playing with machines in her room, in the heart of Athens. Her sound aims to capture the equilibrium between electronic and traditional music by also encompassing her eastern and western music references. For her research she has travelled to remote rural villages recording songs from locals whilst practicing microtonal signing using with her voice. Her first EP, “When You Can’t Dance”, was released in Edinburgh in 2016, and her second one 'Prosper Easter' in 2020 from the label Yalanchi.
