Laura BCR has her ear to the ground. The French DJ and On Board Music label founder is always on the lookout for new music to spin, or for artists to join her monthly Rinse France radio show. She takes her name from the much-loved and now closed, Berlin record store, Bass Cadet Records, where she spent a couple of years behind the counter. These days, Laura is best known for her transportive, deep techno and dubby ambient DJ sets, which have brought her to some of Europe’s finest venues, including a residency at Het Magazijn in The Hague. Her own productions first surfaced in 2020 and were included on both of On Board Music’s stand-out, charity compilations. More original music is in the works, as well as a continuous evolution behind the decks.

It's my pleasure to welcome Yan to the podcast, co-founder of Harmony Rec. and beloved resident of Prague's Ankali. We finally crossed paths in Japan last fall, playing together in Shibuya in what became one of my favorite memories of the year before heading off to the one-and-only Labyrinth.

Having just celebrated their sixth anniversary and with six label releases now under their belt, the Harmony Rec. crew have a lot to celebrate. You can hear it in this mix, I think, buoyant and addictive in its dedication to the never-ending dance floor. Yan takes us right into the zone and keeps us there.

His sets are explorations into story-telling hypnotica with a crossover from ambient to dance floor material. With releases on Nyame Records, a double EP collaborations with Bas Dobbelaer on SoHaSo and his solo appearance on F-on’s Alpenglühen. He is now mostly affiliated to the ISOTOOP collective, helping with the organisation of pretty unique events and transmitting their unique sonic identity.
