The Best of February 2022

Ma Haiping is a Chinese techno producer and DJ. He began to listen to electronic music on radio in the 90’s. Around 2000, when he was 19, he began to make industrial and experimental music. A few years later, he was triggered by stories of Underground Resistance and Drexciya then started making techno, and influencing by Jeff Mills' futuristic sci-fi aesthetics.
In 2013, he released EP 'The Chinese Connection' on the Scan 7 label Cratesavers International, which made him the first Chinese producer releases techno music in Detroit.In year 2015. He released EP 'Crepuscular Rays' on the Orlando Voorn’s label Nightvision. In 2016 and 2020, Ma released two albums, Folding Traces(D- Force Records) and Lost Frontier（Taihe Records) in China.
He participated every important moment of Chinese underground club since 2000, and grew up with China's electronic music culture. Since 2004, he’ve been participating legendary parties Antidote and VOID, and opened the curtain of the Chinese underground techno party culture. Once performed with Juan Atkins, Robert Hood and others, and worked hard to promote the development of Chinese local techno with his music.

[BIO]:
French artist from Montpellier. Klint's project started in 2021 and was already released by respected labels as Modularz or Planet Rhythm. 2022 promises to be a good year with a 12" release already planned on Planet Rhythm and 2 EP collab with Falling Echoes and Linear System. He has been involved in electronic music from an early age, and his first productions under a different alias appeared 14 years ago. He has always been looking for various solutions in music, because according to Klint - "music, apart from its uniqueness, must also contain a multi-genre and be oriented towards the listener and the dance floor". When presenting techno to his audience, he never focuses on one genre, and looks for inspiration among various underground sounds, as well as rock music. Both his live sets and subsequent produced tracks contain his musical soul, and he always looks for answers to his artistic quality in contact with the audience. For Klint, this element is a very important and integral part of building his own development.

Class 1990, Viels was born in a little city outside Milan (Italy). Early in his adolescence he discovered techno culture inspired by a book called “TECHNO“ by Christian Zingales. 

Having released his first Ep on Initial Berlin in 2015, Viels continued his musical path appearing with a track on the well respected dutch imprint Dynamic Reflection, followed by his debut ep “Distrophism” and contributing for the 10 years anniversary of the label, among some of the most recognised artists in the scene : Donato Dozzy, Mike Parker, Shifted, Oscar Mulero, Blawan, Ness, Jeroen Search and many more. 

Co-owner with Francesco della Sala of “End Of Perception”, Viels just released on label such Non Series and Semantica Records and it will appear soon again on Dynamic Reflection and debuting on Edit Select.

With an increasing interest and having performed in quality line-ups around the globe, with the likes of The Gods Planet, Svreca and Dasha Rush to name a few, Viels is establishing himself as part of a new wave of djs and producers approaching the contemporary techno scene.

Tom, also known as Falling Echoes, has been active in the techno scene for over 10 years under different aliases and in 2019 Tom founded his project Falling Echoes. Falling Echoes made his debut on Ricardo Garduno’s label Illegal Alien Records, followed by several releases on labels like Dynamic Reflection and Olympian or the legendary Molecular Recordings. His sets can be defined as hypnotic sci-fi axed, driving and dance floor focused, which is also something he aims for in his productions.

Growing up under the influence deeply rooted in Berlin's club scene, MASCHA absorbed the essence of sound from an early age.

In her teens, she began immersing herself in Berlin's party scene, captivated by its electric energy, a fascination she has carried with her ever since. Now, residing between the vibrant beats of Berlin and the dynamic pulse of Mexico City for the past 6 years, MASCHA draws inspiration from her experiences as a young raver girl, infusing her music with a nostalgic yet forward-thinking edge.

Beyond her role as a music creator and performer, Mascha is an active participant in the Queer community. Whether organizing DJ workshops, hosting Panel Talks exclusively by FLINTA* individuals, or producing and performing her music, she stands as a dynamic force, contributing to both the music scene and community empowerment.
