Hailing from Linden Guyana, born Aug 18 1992, Ileo A. Freeman, also known as I Di Lion, became interested in music at a young age. He recognized that "Music is life because it connects with ones feelings, thoughts and emotions." He has always felt that it helped to motivate him as well as others to "feel the positive vibrations."  Some of his musical influences have been, Bob Marley, 2PAC, Biggie Smalls, Stephen Marley Damian Marley-Ziggy Marley, Sizzla, VYBZ KARTEL, etc. He would often cover their works in the privacy of his home or at family gatherings. He even developed quite the reputation as a local DJ and street chanter. Soon others began to notice that he could not only cover the tracks of others, but that he was just as gifted in his own right. At the age of fifteen, when his family was given the opportunity to migrate to America, he know deep within that this wasn't the end of the reputation he had developed but it was a new beginning. 


     Ileo found that music industry in Guyana compare to the Industry in America is very different. The Culture is diverse in both Guyana and America but is more populated in America. Certain rights and ownership of your music is different, where by in Guyana its not easy to copy write your song because there is no law entitled to that as easy as it is in America. Therefor, music is easily stolen and traded in Guyana, but it at time seems very restricted in the US. He found the industry in America not to be so much about the talent of the individual, but about business. Those who don't know the business get swallowed up. He also noticed that the Hip-Hop / Reggae industry here had shifted from promoting positive life experiences and positive vibes to promoting negativity. He then realized that he not only had a gift that was able to touch the hearts and lives of others, but a calling and purpose. With this realization of self, he began writing his own music and chants at the age of nineteen in an attempt to counter what he considered to be a shift in the hip-hop and reggae scene promoting "positive vibes" to spreading negativity. 

     Since recently launching his career here in Brooklyn, he has already had two major performances. The first was Pospect Park Peace And Unity Concert and secondly,  as a the feature artist in the Sounds of Triumph, LLC "Life Liberty & Love" Poetry Cipher / Spoken Word Event. He was also able to see live performances of Sizzla, Damian Marley, Movado, and Beenie Man. He records this as one of the most memorable moments of his life. Seeing them perform some how gave him the inspiration to know that all of his dreams were possible. Look for his name on many upcoming playbills in the Brooklyn/ Manhattan area. Also look for his CD which is to be releases in 2014. 

     Above all, I Di Lion wishes to remain true to himself and true to his music. He feels that music pays a personal part in his life. It gives him the power and the means to spread knowledge and the good messages and inspirations Jah has forwarded onto him . This message consists of positive uplifting conscience vibes.
