When I first listened to this track produced by the Late J Dilla... the only thing I could think of is how melancholy it sounds and immediately the words "Misty Blue" stuck in my head. At first the original plan was to just do a hook for it and have an MC Rhyme to it, but it didn't quite happen that way. I was in the Lab one night with my engineer B Smith & I just kept repeating the words "Misty Blue" over and over. Eventually, I decided to text myself what my final text message to the Love Of My Life would be if they decided it was over. Misty Blue is my description of wanting my broken heart fixed by the person who broke it!
