Happy Hedgehog

The first track I produced myself. A bit of a polished turd production wise but I remain proud of the composition.

The 7th track from the upcoming album 'There's no such thing as Jazz'.

My brother said I don't use chord progressions enough. Also, I had developed a very versatile voicelike synth patch and wanted to explore it fully on this track.

Bomber

The final track from the upcoming album 'There's no such thing as Jazz'. 

This was the most difficult piece to finish; after developing the loop and rhythm section it took me several years and a lot of different versions to figure out a way to finish it.

Unfungal

This is the result of an accidental synth patch pitch adjustment, leading somehow to the keyboard following a parabolic rather than linear progression of notes. I replicated this mistake across several patches (for consistency) and then attempted a listenable track that explored all its quirks.

The marimba 'solo' was played across 9 semitones at the peak of the parabola.

Parabolatonal

My first xenharmonic track (15edo). No particular aims in mind when I wrote it.

Coelomic Irrigation

Written in 9.6 equal divisons of the octave, meaning each semitone is 125 cents rather than the usual 100.

Theism

Written in 16.8 equal divisons of the octave, meaning each semitone is about 71.4 cents rather than the usual 100.

Sealand

I am Phil Burchell, from Biz Baz Boz, Toluene and others. This is my solo project. I like progressive rock/metal, jazz,  electronic and folk music and attempt to release listenable tracks in these styles.
