I used a Fender (Jap) Squier Strat through a Korg A4 and jammed along to a backing track.

Just me blues jamming.

Me playing over a self-made midi backing track and using my old Fender (Jap) Squire Strat guitar for the lead. The backing track sounds are GM midi sounds through a Boss Dr Synth DS-330.
This is my Shadows influenced version.

Wonderful Land

I recorded this around 1990.
The self-made backing was done using an Alesis MMT8 sequencer for midi recording via a cheapish Yamaha keyboard for midi input.
In those days I had various outboard synths/drum machines etc so not sure what was used for the sounds ! Could've been the Kawai K4R I had, a combination or maybe something else....I really don't remember.
The drums do sound pretty naff by todays standard but hey, that's what we had back then lol !
The guitar is my old trusty Fender (Jap) Squier Strat that I've had for many years.
Anyway, this has been transferred from old cassette tape to MP3 so apologies for lack of sound quality.

A sad song for me.
My lifelong friend died at an unexpected early age and I was gutted.
We went to school together as best friends and both learnt to play instruments at the same time, him drums and me guitar.
He was the drummer in my first band that lasted for 7 years and we remained lifelong friends until he died aged 52 of a heart attack.

I went into my loft studio, found a suitable backing track and hit 'record'.
My emotions at the time came through in my playing.

Here is the result and a tribute to my old mucker Brian.

This is my take based on the Jeff Healey version.
I recorded it on a Fostex 4 track recorder with me singing and playing all guitar parts. The drums were programmed on a drum machine. Date was early 90's.

Alans - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

I recorded this on a Fostex 4 track recorder in 1985. I sang and played all guitar parts on a Fender Strat. The bass guitar was a short scale Vox. The drums were programmed on a basic drum machine.
One of my all time favourite sings from the original Fleetwood Mac.

Alan's - Man Of The World

I started learning guitar way back in 1967 when a friend showed me 5 chords on an old EKO acoustic I had and then he said "Now the rest is up to you"
I felt abandoned by him but it was the best thing that could've happened as it made me determined to do well !
Over the next few years I progressed to a level that saw me joining my friends band as a lead guitarist and we had a run of 7 years playing together before I moved away.
I continued playing in bands as semi-pro right up until the early 1990's when I then messed around in a few Duo's for about 5 years.
I gave up playing live around 1995 and then went semi-pro as a midi file programmer for a well know UK company which lasted for about 5 years.

My main influences for guitar were Eric Clapton, Peter Green (oh what a lovely player), Hank Marvin and many others way back in the 60's.
Over the years my style has become my own I guess as more influences over time came into play.
I like to think I have 'feel' in my playing but that is not for me to judge......As long as listeners get pleasure from my playing, I can't ask for more.
