ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ 
Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥ 
The Lord, Har, Har, is the rain-drop; I am the song-bird, crying, crying out for it.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਾਤੀ ॥੧॥ 
O Lord God, please bless me with Your Mercy, and pour Your Name into my mouth, even if for only an instant. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਇਕ ਰਾਤੀ ॥ 
Without the Lord, I cannot live for even a second.

ਜਿਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਮਲੈ ਅਮਲੀ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਮ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ 
Like the addict who dies without his drug, I die without the Lord. ||Pause||

ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਵਰ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਾਹ ਹਮ ਲਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਮਾਤੀ ॥ 
You, Lord, are the deepest, most unfathomable ocean; I cannot find even a trace of Your limits.

ਤੂ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਗਾਤੀ ॥੨॥ 
You are the most remote of the remote, limitless and transcendent; O Lord Master, You alone know Your state and extent. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
The Lord's humble Saints meditate on the Lord; they are imbued with the deep crimson color of the Guru's Love.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਨੀ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਊਤਮ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੩॥ 
Meditating on the Lord, they attain great glory, and the most sublime honor. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਵੈ ਭਾਤੀ ॥
He Himself is the Lord and Master, and He Himself is the servant; He Himself creates His environments.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਭਗਾਤੀ ॥੪॥੫॥ 
Servant Nanak has come to Your Sanctuary, O Lord; protect and preserve the honor of Your devotee. ||4||5||

jogee jatee brahamachaaree badde badde chhatradhaaree chhatr hee kee chhaiaa kiee kos lau chalat hai(n) ||
ਜੋਗੀ, ਜਤੀ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕਈ ਕੋਹਾ ਤਕ ਛਤ੍ਰਾ ਦੀ ਛਾ ਹੇਠਾ ਹੀ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਵਲ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਪਿਤਾਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ੪੮ ਕੋਹ ਛਤ੍ਰਾ ਦੀ ਛਾ ਹੇਠ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ);
The Yougis, celibates and students observing celibacy, many great sovereigns, who walk several miles under the shade of canopy.

ਬਡੇ ਬਡੇ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੇ ਦਾਬਤਿ ਫਿਰਤਿ ਦੇਸ ਬਡੇ ਬਡੇ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਪ ਕੋ ਦਲਤੁ ਹੈਂ ॥
badde badde raajan ke dhaabat firat dhes badde badde raajan ke dhrap ko dhalat hai(n) ||
ਜੋ ਵੱਡਿਆਂ ਵੱਡਿਆਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਿਆਂ ਵੱਡਿਆਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਲਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਸਨ;
Who conquer the countries of many great kings and bruise their ego.

ਮਾਨ ਸੇ ਮਹੀਪ ਔ ਦਿਲੀਪ ਕੈਸੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਬਡੋ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਭੁਜ ਦੰਡ ਕੋ ਕਰਤ ਹੈਂ ॥
maan se maheep aau dhileep kaise chhatradhaaree baddo abhimaan bhuj dha(n)dd ko karat hai(n) ||
ਮਾਨਧਾਤਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਲੀਪ ਵਰਗੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ;
The Sovereign like Mandhata and the Canopied Sovereign like Dalip, who were proud of their mightly forces.

ਦਾਰਾ ਸੇ ਦਿਲੀਸਰ ਦ੍ਰੁਜੋਧਨ ਸੇ ਮਾਨਧਾਰੀ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗ ਭੂਮਿ ਅੰਤ ਭੂਮਿ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਤ ਹੈਂ ॥੮॥੭੮॥
dhaaraa se dhileesar dhrujodhan se maanadhaaree bhog bhog bhoom a(n)t bhoom mai milat hai(n) ||8||78||
ਦਾਰਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਰਾਜੇ ('ਦਿਲੀਸਰ') ਅਤੇ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੰਕਾਰੀ (ਜੋ ਭੋਗਾ ਨੂੰ) ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੮॥੭੮॥
The emperor like Darius and the great egoist like Duryodhana, after enjoying the earthly pleasures, finally merged in the earth.8.78.
