This is my third track for FAWM 2022, this is a 4 way remote collaboration using a four track recorder.

"A growing number of brave souls go OLD-school each FAWM to write a songs by recording one part onto cassette tape. The physical tape is then mailed through the post, to the next person on the list, who adds one part and sends it on to the next person. The last person mixes the four tracks and uploads the song. The results have been amazing."

A recent move is hindering my ability to participate in February Album Writing Month 2025, but I only just realized that I never uploaded this song from last year here.

This one's for all those for whom Valentine's Day is just another day. How autobiographical is it? Not that much, really. I'm a person who is very comfortable with a lot of solitude. The vast majority of the time, being single doesn't bother me, so this song isn't really written from my own perspective (maybe from that of some alternate-universe version of me who chooses to dwell on being sans partner, rather than all the things the actual me chooses to dwell on lol).

Anyway, please enjoy my anti-Valentine anthem.

Hey there, SoundCloud denizens. I'm a guy from Boston who writes and records songs when the mood strikes. I'm not a pro by any means-- I just do what I do for my own enjoyment, and if other people like it too, then that's a great bonus. Some of the bands that I love and/or draw inspiration from are Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Radiohead, Wire, Kraftwerk, Super Furry Animals, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics and about 1,000 others.

The songs I'll be uploading will fall into a couple of different categories:
1) 1988-mid '90s: fairly crude lo-fi recordings, mostly made in my bedroom with a Walkman-sized tape recorder.
2) 2007-present: slightly less crude recordings, mostly made in my bedroom with an analog 8-track recorder.

And that's about as hi-tech as I get. I don't record with computer programs or a digital recorder unless I'm collaborating with someone else who has access to such resources. As a result, my recordings may not be for everybody, but if you can get past the fact that a lot of them are fairly rough around the edges, I think there are some pretty worthwhile songs in there, if I may say so myself. I hope you agree.
