About the Mix:

When I was asked to put this together I knew I wanted to lean towards the more stripped back, minimal spectrum of my sound. With the party and mix series being based out of Montréal, a former home of mine, I reflected a bit on the sound that shaped my taste while living there. It’s where I first came into being an adult, and a queer person. 

Looking where I am now at what I’ve been able to accomplish, it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible highs and lows of being freshly out of closet there where I first came into queer nightlife.

Recorded using 2 CDJ Nexus-2000’s and a DJM-900, this mix explores minimal house and techno, house, tech house, acid, and breaks.

About the Mix: 

This is a live recording of the last half of my four-hour opening set before Elena Colombi at Deep Rave, March 2025. The curation was really cool because Elena and I essentially split the peak time hours of the night and each took on the more free-form opening/closing edges of the journey. My intention for this stretch of the mix was to maintain a steady dancey groove, while occasionally spiralling into moments of enveloping chaos. I hope you can feel the strange yet inviting, sometimes overwhelming energy here… like the provocative smell of lilacs on a warm and humid late-spring night. 

About the DJ: 

Seoul-born and currently loving in Tio'tia:ke/Montreal, kiju is one of the core members of the Layer05 outdoor summer rave series and a dedicated member of the DIY community year-round.

About the Mix:

A steady hour and a half going through various epochs and styles of both techno and house, the duo brings you through a journey into the minimal, the dub, the progressive, the tribal, and much more. Wencat’s new fangled obsession for James Holden’s influential style of progressive house is apparent in this mix, while Jade’s continued interest in techno and house heavy hitters continues to deepen and mature, keeping the groove locked and steady.

For them, this mix represents the culmination of years of friendship and evolving musically, first together, then separately.

About the DJs:

First meeting at END fest back in 2022, Jade and Wencat have since formed a friendship deeply important to both their personal lives and their musical careers. Both having attuned their DJing skills together back in the YOTA DJ academy, they had spent their early years digging together everyday at the gym.

Over the years they have branched out and filled different niches, but when they come back and b2b oncemore, you can feel the impact and joy they both have being behind the decks together.

Notes on the Mix:

I recorded this mix live at an intimate day party at the La 30 loft in May, 2024. As the fog rolled in and the room began to sweat, I realized I had found a new favourite party format. The recording includes tracks that had hooked me deeply that spring, like Michelle Manetti and Demi Riquisimo’s “All I Need” and a sentimental OSSX edit of Fatima Yamaha’s “What’s A Girl To Do”.

Bio:

Pretty Privilege is a Montreal-based DJ and founder of microrave, a party series that highlights FLINTA* talent. She is also a resident of LATEX, Montreal’s legendary kink rave. Turning out packed dance floors from Warsaw to Chicago, her sets employ a signature blend of prog, 90s hard house, and cheeky, vocal-studded electro. It is her main duty in life to make dancers sweat, bump, grind, and make out with each other.

From speed garage to Arabic pop, one hour of borderless club energy from the Saudi DJ and curator. 

"We're making history tonight," hollered the MC at the start of Nooriyah's London Boiler Room in 2022. Sat next to the decks was her <i>baba</i> (Arabic for father), dressed in traditional Saudi garb. He opened the one-hour performance by playing the oud, a Middle Eastern instrument similar to a lute. Surrounded by smiling faces and pumping arms, it's a picture of joy.

The set was a turning point—and not just for Nooriyah's career. Scroll through the comments on YouTube and you'll find notes of endearment, gratitude and teary appreciation, proof of how powerful it was for people to see Middle Eastern music placed at the centre of contemporary club culture. 

This speaks to Nooriyah's MO. Born in Saudi Arabia, raised in Japan and now based in the UK, her musical vision reflects her global upbringing. But her style isn't eclecticism for eclecticism's sake—she's spoken about the importance of carving out space for underrepresented voices in dance music. 

Her RA Mix makes that mission audible. The result is a breathless hour: 47 tracks darting between speed garage, amapiano, Jersey club, Arabic pop edits and percussion-heavy workouts from Cairo to Accra. But don't mistake pace for carelessness: RA.1002 never feels rushed. Each switch is considered, revealing a knowledge of how global dance traditions can speak to one another. 

All in all, it's not only a celebration of her own heritage, but an invitation to imagine dance floors unconstrained by borders.

Warm melancholia and heady sonics from Iris - the Montreal-based DJ, fellow @n10.as host, and mind behind the queer-focused @underground-love-affair party and mix series (with a few shared contributors!). Their usual playing styles foreground an insatiable appetite for musics guided by emotion — “cyberjazz, aquabreaks, bubblestep, windmill techno, critter-hop, and punk house”. Intentionally created for the last months of summer, his mix runs the gamut through lush ambient, shoegaze, dubbed out leftfield reggaeton and glistening polyrhythms

About the DJ: Tom Marsi is a frenetic force in the underground dance scene. Based in the Bay Area, Tom hosts two radio residencies at Lower Grand Radio in Oakland and BFF.FM in San Francisco. Music released on Oakland rave label, NO BIAS, including her EPs, SHADY LADY + SHADY LADY REMIXES. She is an unbounded electrifying vinyl & digital DJ.
