This is a Verse 1 vocal take from when we were trying out different microphones for my voice in the studio. I was using a 1960s Calrad DM-15 on this take. It's a single, first take with no autotune, EQ or Compression. Just how I like it. ;)

It's Christmas (Guitar Solo Snippet)

This is a good example of how many recordings of my songs start out.

I often start out hearing the entire song (vocals, instruments and production) in my head, so as a starting point I'll record some chords, the melody line and some basic structure.

This gives me an opportunity to listen to these parts some place other than my head and then I can make changes that I want from there, going forward. :)

In this example, the vocal line will be where the melody starts at 0:17 seconds. If you imagine it like those children's songs that have the bouncing ball/dot over the words, it goes something like this:

"...mor  con - quis - ta  tu-do..... oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.... oh-oh-oh-oh
love con - quers all..... oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.... oh-oh-oh-oh"

Anyway, I just wanted to share it with you tonight. :) MUCH more to come...
