A foggy day at the beach, on the day of the time change, which, appropriately, was also the Day of the Dead.  The bats were flying around me in the twilight and it seemed like a good moment to sit amongst the driftwood and improvise on the flute.  The cold wood wetted out quickly though.

For what would have been my mom's 82nd birthday. I took this flute out of the box a few minutes before and figured a joyful tune while watching the sunset would be fitting.

Five minutes before dawn, the first time I picked up the flute in December, I hit record and played this, about my thoughts as the weather changed and the holidays came at me like an avalanche.
