Stay is a poignant expression of the human longing to hold on to what has been lost. It's a bittersweet nostalgia that lingers, a yearning to remain connected to the past, even when it's gone. In this EP, 'Stay' embodies the ache of lost love and the struggle to heal and move forward.
"Stay" captures the fragile moment when love is no longer the same. Should you stay or walk away? The track reflects this emotional tension— letting go of something painful, yet hard to leave behind. Melancholic, delicate sounds blend with Yazed's vocals, creating a space between fragility and strength.
The original track is by Toshka, a music producer born and raised in the vibrant city of Sofia, Bulgaria, now living in the Italian part of Switzerland. Active since 2000 as a DJ and electronic music producer, Toshka embraces experimentation, blending diverse sounds and styles. "Stay" represents the most introspective side of her sound, marked by a distinctive musical character.
The remix is crafted by KVNDYO, a producer and artist from Nairobi, Kenya. Specializing in afro house, melodic, and deep house, KVNDYO combines the richness of African heritage with influences from old- school dance and disco to EDM, hip-hop, jazz, genge, and pop. He is the Founder and Head of A&R at Marcrea Music, an independent label dedicated to curating authentic and innovative house music projects from around the world.
Toshka and KVNDYO’s collaboration began through Marcrea Music, when Toshka released a remix of "New Day", originally produced by KVNDYO. From there, a musical friendship was born, growing over the years through shared productions, creative ideas, and mutual support. "Stay" is the next chapter of this ongoing journey.
