"Those Were The Days" is a record that came together quicker than anything we’ve done before. When we first heard the demo Jared sent over, we immediately connected with the story. It was something that felt extremely reminiscent of the youth we’ve both experienced. From the late night drives, to first kisses, and the moments we’ve shared with loved ones, this record hits home for us and we knew we had to make it come to life. We’ve all had moments that we look back at and think about how good they were, and we hope everyone shares the same feeling together.

After a successful year of 2019, which showcased 10 (11) awesome releases and many stellar achievements & new ventures, we’re more than pumped to finally get to start our 2020! For our first release of 2020, we’re excited to welcome the Canadian duo Wild Cards to Future Generation for not only their first release on the label, but also for the first cover release on the label. Their debut FG release is a fantastic rework of Jason Derulo’s hit song ‘It Girl’, which sold platinum/gold in 6 countries. Their version gives the original pop/R&B love song a catchy & uplifting dance pop/house-ish twist, while maintaining in a lovely way the emotional feeling of the original track. It Girl also marks Wild Cards’ 1st release with their new style, shifting from their past melodic trap/future bass-is into a more dance pop influenced direction, while still maintaining the ‘Wild Cards touch’ in all of their productions.

This song was written during some serious seasonal depression. It was one of those days/weeks/months where you start to question everything and just wish you could go back to being 'little you' with not a care in the world.
