I wake in a blue shell,
horizon folded small.
Some days are sharp,
my lungs go quiet, count.

shaped slow, no alarm.
One breath holds a little sea,
til it swells and folds my calm.

I mark the drift, a plank, a knot,
a small voice pulls the line.
I learn a slow, flat stroke,

Driftwood waits on some quiet shore,
