Peter Makto has been delivering unforgettable performances to the international community for so long that his name is now automatically associated with quality wherever he goes. For proof of such a claim, one need not look any further than has trophy mantle at home; he’s won the Hungary DJ of the year three times, in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

Gregory S. has spent nearly all of his life immersed in the electronic music world, his broad tastes and years of diverse experiences having now resulted in him being proudly categorized as an “unclassifiable” DJ himself.

If electronic music were a fantasy game, many fans would pair Peter Makto and Gregory S. to be on the same team. Fortunately, we don’t have to fantasize because they’ve done it themselves, in real life. Lifelong friends who are twins when it comes to their horoscopes, Peter and Gregory have been collaborating for as long as they can remember and have created an unbreakable bond in music, a bond that speaks for itself when Peter and Gregory are performing together producing together, or remixing together.

BoHo Mixtape 004 : Claudio Ricci - Live at BoHo Off Week at Cdlc Barcelona - 17/06/17

Just a collection of some techy and deep tunes that I mixed together.The common thread running through this mix is that all but two tracks use vocals as an instrument.I am really attracted to the use of cut up, often indistinguishable vocal samples in dance music.I think it makes what some describe as the "robotic" feeling of techno/tech-house much more human, organic, and accessible.

Bedrock XX – the milestone twentieth anniversary compilation, curated and mixed by label head John Digweed – will be released on June 22, via Bedrock Records. Featuring 21 brand new and exclusive tracks, all of which were custom made for the album by artists handpicked by John, this seminal project showcases music from the world’s finest, most cutting-edge producers from the global House and Techno scene. Speaking about the project and its collaborators, which include the likes of Josh Wink, Guy J, Marc Romboy, Alan Fitzpatrick, Robert Babicz, Pig&Dan, Paco Osuna, Ruede Hagelstein and many more, John Digweed said: “This is an incredibly special project for us. The artists on the album consist of some of the most talented heavyweights in the House and Techno scene and I am sure you are going to be blown away by the quality of the tracks on here. I hope you enjoy the album and thanks for twenty years of great Bedrock parties and music”. To celebrate this milestone release, Bedrock has made a limited number of beautiful 5x Vinyl and 4x CD Deluxe box sets, specially created by London based design house, Malone Design. Remarkably, this is also the first time Bedrock has released a vinyl box set in its twenty-year history. “We wanted to create something truly collectable for this album, and Malone Design have really put together the ultra Bedrock Anniversary Box Set, and a first for us as a label” – John Digweed The limited first orders will have signed prints in the vinyl box set and the alternative deluxe CD box set will also have a limited run signed by John Digweed. SMD241 Rodskeez & Mars Monero - Ghost Limb / Rust in Oil, Bones in Soil EP [Suffused Music]

Returning after a brief hiatus, Suffused Music sees an Australian collaborative pairing making their debut on the label.

An artist with a considerable pedigree to his name, Rodskeez is a renowned name in the underground dance industry. A DJ from his early 20s, performances across his homeland have seen him perform at high-profile venues including headline slots at Chinese Laundry alongside the likes of Gui Boratto, Guy J and Henry Saiz. 

With over a decade’s experience and well over a century of production credits to his name, the Sydney based producer has found his music allied to some of the finest modern labels. A regular on the famous Australian, Vapour Recordings imprint, Mango Alley, Replug and Mesmeric have all played host to Rodskeez’s music, while 2011 saw a Sudbeat Music debut with “The Village EP” and remixes from label-owner, Hernan Cattaneo (alongside SoundExile) plus fellow countryman, Kasey Taylor.

Joining forces with fellow Sydney resident, Mars Monero, himself responsible for a clutch of releases on Sleazy Deep and Yes Yes Records, the duo saw a debut release on Mexican imprint, Sounds of Earth in September 2018 as part of the label’s 100th release, with “Chain and Anchor”. Now debuting on Suffused Music, “Ghost Limb” is a throbbing, soulful offering characterised by strong beat and rolling percussive groove that is enveloped in muted melodic phrasing and gently modulating pads. Evolving elegantly throughout with range of motifs and effects, a loquacious vocal line drenched in reverb and delay meanders impressively across proceedings with ease to add a strong dub vibe to the track.

Partner track, “Rust in Oil, Bones in Soil” continues the strong rhythmic cadence of its predecessor as an offbeat stab adds a touch of class to the head-shaking groove. A series of spot effects add depth and texture while a subtle vocal ping-pongs across the stereo spectrum in dizzying fashion. A dynamic bassline adds further to the dancefloor character in a track that is full of originality, technique and craftsmanship.
