The Taste Of Carista, a club night on Saturday 22 June curated by Utrecht's finest: the incredibly talented all-round DJ Carista.

Carista runs her own label and already stole the show at several amazing Boiler Rooms. Leading radio stations such as Red Light Radio and London's NTS love to see her regurlarly in the studio, and her tour schedule takes her to just about every European club that matters - not to mention the festivals. You can safely say that Carista is doing well. Very well actually.

Despite this hustle and bustle, her enthusiasm still shines brightly over the dance floors she has before her, no matter how dark the night may be. Her catchy selections seem to be shaken up: after a round of obscure jazz she flows just as easily to Chicago house as to forgotten garage classics. Genres or tempo no longer matter: her selections are impulsive and perfect for the moment.

That's why it's now the turn of this Utrecht tastemaker to curate her own club night - and that in (club) WAS., In her own beloved Domstad Utrecht!

After a special festival season last summer Carista is slowly but surely taking steps towards becoming a selector who delivers quality music and who guarantees a good club night, as soon as you see her name on a flyer. This year she debuted on several festivals like Down The Rabbit Hole, Boiler Room, Lowlands & Appelsap and BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra DJ Benji B selected her DJ set at Appelsap for his weekly radioshow.

‘Modern Intimacy’ serves as an introduction for the people who don’t know Carista (yet) and an invitation into her musical world.

This mixtape is a reflection of her eclectic and soulful sound, combined with a nostalgic feel that brings you back to the music from back in the days, using current and contemporary sounds. Press play and cuddle up..
