overoverover is my latest release as DateNite. I wrote this song, first with just voice and guitar- resisting a time when I was in a situation feeling lost  in a place I was trying to make a home. I was catapulted into circumstances that required digging deep within myself, asking if this is truly something I want to continue participating in- am I really happy? I see the issues, don’t you? I see the answers to fix it, don’t you? Is this situation really able to give me what I actually want to cultivate. It was painful, I was very much a shell at the time and unsure of myself truly in all aspects. I felt sadness and frustration being alone physically and emotionally with a partner. Being observed sinking lower and lower and not being pulled out.

I wrote this song and reimagined it MANY times. Ultimately I felt myself seen, far from that time in this present moment and able to express it fully with hardware and software instruments accompanied by my own flute playing. The flute is the hope, at the start weak and given up but growing throughout. It was such an experience to create my own patches and find sounds that felt authentic to use to match the mood of this song. Being stuck in the loop but ultimately moving away from it. 


I hope listeners can find a moment of feeling seen and also a sense of being able to let go and grow at the end..its not a unique experience to feel like you have to remove yourself from something that is hurting you, even if its what you think you want. You’ll just keep staying in that loop over and over and over and over *ੈ✩‧₊˚ ✧˖*°࿐ ❝ ❞ ✧ ೃ༄ ｡・:*˚:✧｡
