Writing songs has always been a therapeutic outlet for David. It’s how he expresses himself and it's also a way for him to get rid of the various emotions we all allow to build up in our minds. On “Screwloose Freestyle,” David reacts to being betrayed by people he once considered friends, he regrets all the time he spent on everyone and everything that has distracted him from his goals. The freestyle discusses people showing him love and sincerity when it's easy and then switching sides when it no longer benefits them. With lyrics like “You don’t even mean the sh*t you’re telling yourself” He realizes people have a tendency of saying the things they think other people want to hear instead of what they actually mean. ‘Screwloose Freestyle’ puts off a dark, eerie energy that assists in alluding to the frustration and anger David had at the time of recording this latest single.
