We would like to take this opportunity to announce the launch of the “Angel” Campaign.

“Angel” is a song of encouragement written by Country singer/song writer, Gareth James.

In the recent months, the topic of depression and suicide, and to be more specific, bullying, have been surfacing a lot.
Bullying is a common enemy our youth is facing on a daily basis.

“According to the World Health Organisation, a suicide occurs somewhere in the world every 40 seconds, and an attempt is made every 3 seconds”. That is a scary statistic people. Close to 60% of suicides are caused by depression.

“Angel” is a song about a common enemy known as depression but even more specifically, bullying. Gareth wrote this song in the hopes that it could help people.

He wants the message to hit home, to let our youth know that they are NOT alone and that there’s an Angel here for them.
The Angel can be the Biblical kind or a best friend or your parents.

The aim is to help all our kids but if we can help only one child by giving him or her the encouragement they need to talk,
to speak up about their fears and how its effecting them with someone closest to them, then we believe we are heading in the right
direction.

This is a song crucified on the very axis of life, somehow containing the dynamic tension we all face in relationships, the loop in which we either lose or win. Only here it’s both. We are drawn into the eternal braid in which loss is so painful that a war of love rages between letting go and holding on.

The story is iconic: a poor boy falls in love with a rich girl whose shallow values undermine his true heart. He rages against the hurt, his accusations drive the layers of paradox in this song to their logical limit, true love surely has no words like this.

The tension is seemingly unarmed in the central lyric: “Something’s gotta give, I can’t go on like this” but we know it is impermeable when we arrive at the last chorus: “ Lovin’ you should never be this wrong.”

But it is.

The real magic here emerges when you understand the evolution of the song: the paradox of rap and country is a mirror of the paradox of love and suffering. The hidden anomaly is our big reveal: Rapper Mother City Lumberjack, Chris (MCLJ) is an underground rapper who breaks daylight for the first time on . This rapper is a word wizard beyond articulation. And he’s white.

In one song we break the barriers of genre, of race and of love itself. This is themagical architecture on which is built.

One thing that pushed me hard during this time is a song I wrote called HOPE. Weird I know my own song inspired me 😀 but its the truth.

In all the negativity around the world, "C'est La Vie" is a song that breathes fresh air, spreading positivity and love, which I think we all need in these trying times.

"C'est La Vie" means 'such is life' or 'that's life'. When things don't go according to plan, some people complain non-stop; while others accept the fact that disappointments are a part of life and get on with it. The expression 'c'est la vie' is mostly used to downplay your sense of disappointment.
