Following on from January's well-loved Soulful Culture Volume 1, a compilation that was universally praised on release, Tribe is now ready to let loose Volume 2 of what we think is a truly fantastic series in the making.

Soulful Culture is a unique concept that sees label boss Zepherin Saint delve deep into the Tribe Records annals to pinpoint some of the finest Soulful electronic gems from our vaults, giving them a well-deserved new lease of life. On the album, he has combined them with some of his most cherished and powerful tracks from his DJ sets across the years.

Volume 2 is brimming with production legends with Larry heard, Louie Vega, Patrice Scott, Kai Alice, Trinidadian deep, Alex Attias and Arnold Jarvis

They stand side by side with names who over the last few years have begun to carve their own niche, Nathan Adams, Jose Carretas, MI casa, Lounge Lizards, Deep Soul Syndicate, Oral Deep, Filipe Narciso, Wipe the Needle

From deep percussion fuelled house through hypnotic acid-tinged masterpieces and onwards via divine broken beat and soul-bearing vocals this is an album that is quite simply overflowing with depth and warmth. Featuring fourteen euphoric tracks it's an album where every cut perfectly complements those around it.

After the extensive “Uncanny Valley 20” compilation we go back to our classic 4- track-format for “Uncanny Valley 025”. Taking the chance to introduce 3 new artists to our roster, we warmly welcome Lake People, Philipp Triebel and RJ (who is also one half of Dürerstuben) to add their distinctive flavour to this record.

Lake People doesn’t need an introduction anymore as his smart and emotional productions are making rounds from Ibiza to your basement club around the corner. His “Unexpected End Of Archive” is another example for his knack to produce tracks that evokes an emotional maelstrom on the dance floor. Beautiful synth melodies are meandering throughout the tune while the slick drum arrangement provides just enough tension to keep your feet on the floor.

Philipp Triebel caught our ear with his live set when we played together at a party in his hometown Giessen. After handing in demos for some time he now contributes “Unity” to this compilation. Clocking in at just 4 and a half minutes it gets us moving with tight chords, tricky drums and a short but prominent synth melody that will be heavy on the dance floor.

The B-side features two tracks by RJ, a member of the 2014 edition of RBMA in Tokyo. “Leo” is an excellent piece of slowly rising House music that pushes the right buttons at just the right time. With melancholic robots on vocals duties and dreamy synth pads this track literally tells a story. Closing the record is “Nie” which rises the pace and takes a similar path like its predecessor with moony synths and a very catchy melody.

As always with the Various Artists EPs on Uncanny Valley, the artwork is by courtesy of illustrator Paul Waak, this time with a fresh new approach.

Well, after a weekend of watching football...how fitting it is that this Monday starts with a punt!  

This is not the track that I originally wanted to post today, but just as we launched Icarus into the sky, the poor soul was blasted by one of the bots laser beams.  (We will try to rebuild him.)  

I'm a bit surprised, as the only thing that could have run afoul of the bots were some movie snippets--and usually the bots ignore those.  Not this morning.  

Luckily, I had another Monday worthy track ready to go today.  Monday's, here, as you may know, are when we reach back to the time when Interbay experiments were posted (along with music videos) on Facebook.  (This would be from January 2023 to May 2024, at which time I switched to posting tracks exclusively on SoundCloud.)  

This recent Monday formula is to take one of those tasks and push it through the Fun Factory that is the RRR protocol.  RRR stands for Rethink, Remake, Remix.  My goal is to take another go at these older tracks with the additional skills that experience have, hopefully, granted me.  It is also a chance to update these tracks to the standards and criteria I have for posting tracks on SoundCloud--for example, all of the tracks that I post on SoundCloud MUST have a vocal element, which was NOT true of all of the tracks I'd posted on Facebook.  

It can be fun to revisit the ideas I had then and see how I might do things differently.  And the end result is a strong Interbay track, even if you aren't at all familiar with the original (though, the tracks are still on Facebook if you want to compare and contrast.) 

This track is a burst of caffeine to wake you up on a Monday morning...or a way to pregame for heading out to the clubs on any night of the week.  Tons of energy in the bouncing bass guitar, the drums, the arpeggios...it is trying its best to live up to being worthy of its central demand that you "Don't Stop Dancing."  

Not sure what will happen to the RRR track I originally tried to post today.  Might have to be locked into the deepest level of The Vault (where only the brave...and perhaps, someday, the Patreoners, will ever have access to it.  We'll see.  I may also put it BACK through the RRR wringer one more time to take out whatever might have angered the bots and try to post it agian in the future.)  

For now, though...please give a listen to what was once known as "Experiment 24" and is now the latest Interbay track, "Don't Stop Dancing".

Following massive releases on Running Back, AEON, Future Disco and Permanent Vacation, once again Alan Dixon captures the pent up energy and frustration of the weirdest year we've ever had in our lifetimes and how it's finally being released as the dancefloors slowly open up again. Gio is a DJ/Producer from NJ, USA. His journey as a DJ began at the age of 13, as he played small events for friends and family. Since then, the hobby has grown into a passion that has allowed him to play for people from all walks of life. DJing events ranging from Weddings to Clubs to Festivals with thousands in attendance, Gio has rocked every crowd. At the age of 17, after growing more and more curious about the process that went into the music he’d been playing, he began to produce music himself. Making remixes of popular songs to incorporate in his sets was just the start - and after having found his sound, Gio is currently working towards his first original release as an artist — which will be available very soon on all major streaming platforms.
