“Quietly” is my attempt to personify fear in my life. The writing and recording process of this song was very defining for me as an artist. Through it, I had to confront things that I tried to bury down in the tartarus of my sub-conscious. And going toe to toe with your darkest fears is a difficult thing to do, friends. But as a result, I feel like I’m coming out the other side as a better human being. And my hope is that this song can help you fight and defeat the things that hold you down, because that’s what it’s done for me.

Quietly

There have been moments in my life where everything feels tilted. 

I’ve grown up with a religious background. My faith is part of my core. But every once in a while I hit these points of doubt. I come across these roadblocks where the answers I hear so often just stop making sense to me. And when this happens, I become uncertain about life and my purpose in it. I begin to go down this “what if” hole that ultimately leaves me feeling empty and lost. 

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you can’t. All I know is that the only way to overcome the feeling of emptiness and isolation is to not keep it in the dark. So I tried my best to articulate this in a song. 

If you’ve found yourself asking “what if” questions and you feel stuck in a hole, you’re not alone. If circumstances have led you to feel numb and empty, you’re not alone. If you feel crippled by doubt (self doubt or religious doubt), you’re not alone.

Paralyzed

This song tries to put the listener in their driveway, watching the love of their life walk away, wishing they could tell them to stay.
