This is my homage to Los Angeles.  To me, it's about the harsh truth of LA, and how this place is really designed to make you feel so small at times.  

"Angels Cry" is like a prayer that I cry, for the "broken dreams that fill the streets with love for sale. Where every win is overshadowed by the fail".  It's about the realities of being in the entertainment industry, that nothing is ever what it seems, and if you aren't careful, you could be it's next victim if you allow it.

Last year, my dear friend Jane shared with me a few of her inspiring poems about God.  A poem in particular called "A Day in the Lord" inspired me to write this song based on her note...

She wrote, "I wanted this one to feel more intimate than most people expect God to be, more intimate than any human lover---surprisingly and blasphemously so!"

I plucked away at the piano and started singing her words.  I collaborated with my friend and composer Tim Borquez and also producer/dj/musical director Hunter Pearson and came up with this song "Endlessly".

Janes Prayer (Endlessly)

I wrote this song during a time when I truly felt I lost everything and was left with nothing.  There wasn't anything anyone could say to change my thoughts.  I did the only thing I knew how to do---and that was to write.  While I wasn't intending to write something inspirational, this was what naturally came out.  

I've learned that there are going to be times in life that you'll feel like nothing has gone your way, or life seems like its falling apart, or you just can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but perspective is always what helps me to get through.

This song is about starting to take charge of your life from within. When Murphy's Law just seems to have overstayed his welcome, it's time to renovate and make some drastic changes. It's scary, it's painful, it's vulnerable, but so necessary.  Tear down those walls, strip the paint off, and start over.  There's no other way.

After every heartbreak, it always seems like you'll never love again.

It's hard to not take that baggage and hurt with us into the next relationship, and sometimes it takes a long time to heal and sometimes, you even find yourself jaded. 

But you have to let it all go, someway, somehow and allow yourself to be open to love again.  When that day finally comes, it almost feels like a re-birth.  This song was born out of that experience.  I was fascinated with the idea that almost in the same way your heart aches after its broken, it aches and burns with the same fervor when in love. And I'd like to believe that Love is always possible. Love is beautiful. Love is being vulnerable. But you just have to be open to it.

She’s a singer, writer and ASSASSIN, murdering songs with her pen and a mic in her hand.

Killing the game with her unique sense of style and sound, she is Jenilee. A multi-faceted artist giving new meaning to “multi-threat”, she does it all. Packing a soulful voice, infectious melodies and stand out top lines, her compelling stage and on camera presence are an added bonus to her exotic look. While she is able to perform and write any genre, her own music embodies a “Hood rock” sensibility, a fusion of Pop-Urban-Rock.


The Philippines born Jenilee wrote her first song at age 10 and knew that she was destined to do music.  Upon moving to LA, she studied at The Gloria Gifford Conservatory of Performing Arts and has shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Brian Mcknight and Raphael Saadiq, opening up for Snoop Dogg and Jordan Knight of NKOTB in sold out arenas.  She has inked record deals with Golden City/Bad Boy Records, Streamline/Interscope Records and Maxi Media/Universal Records. These labels led her work with hit makers including Mario Winans, Harvey Mason Jr, Rob Knox, James Fauntleroy, Space Cowboy, Dre & Vidal, Tim & Bob, The Smeezingtons and The Stereotypes to name a few.  An accomplished writer she continues to write music for various artists as well as for film and television (MTV, E!, Vh1).  In 2010, she was featured on a tour in Micronesia and also a USO Tour around Eastern Europe.

As an actress, she’s studied under famed acting coach, Arthur Mendoza at The Actors Circle Theater.  Although she has guested on tv shows like “OC” & “Entourage”, including landing several national commercials & campaigns (Target, KIA Motor sports, Bio Silk, Def jam rapstar) she is best known as a “Deal or No Deal” model on NBC for its first season.  She has starred in a few acclaimed indie films “Carts” &  “Brown Soup thing.”


In May 2011, she put together an A CAPELLA group called Kinfolk 9 that made it on the third season of NBC’s “THE SING OFF” and quickly became a fan favorite, getting voted #1 best performance for the premier episode.  Kinfolk 9’s rendition of the Beatles “Let it Be” has topped the Itunes charts coming in at #3 below the original version at #1 and the “Across the universe” soundtrack at #2. 

The summer 2011 release of her mixtape “Sex, Love and Lock & Load” preceded with a video for “Assassin” has created an online buzz through RefinedHype.com and Mixtapedownload.com where more recently, her mixtape single “I wanna love you” (from her upcoming follow up mixtape) became the #1 downloaded song in the first week of its release.  She is currently in the studio writing and recording her debut album with International hitmakers DEEKAY (JLS, Sugababes, Tinie Tempah) with an expected release early next year. 

Armed with talent, beauty and charisma, you can expect to see a lot more of Jenilee.  While she has accomplished a lot in her short career, this assassin has just barely scratched the surface.
