2020 is a landmark year for ZR.

It's 30 years since the label began and also the release of the 300th single!. Rather than an EP containing remixes of ZR favourites to mark the occasion we decided to make a brand new original song the 300th release...

'Power of the Mind' contains a very pertinent lyric about thinking for yourself and not being fooled by fake news. The throaty vintage soul vocals come from the Valentine Brothers (who wrote and released Money’s Too Tight to Mention in 82 - later covered by Simply Red to give them their debut hit). Add in some classic house piano and this something that sounds like it could have been one of those big vocal records on Strictly Rhythm in the mid 90s.
