House Session Vol. 1

The first show this year is a guestmix by Sven Weisemann from Berlin, Germany. I'm more than happy that Sven did a journey for the Deep Inspiration Show, because I'm a big fan of his productions, mixes and piano sessions since a long time. With this episode I also want to introduce the new Deep Inspiration Show introtrailer, which is produced by Sven Weisemann himself. Enjoy.  

Bio: Despite his young age, Weisemann has been DJing since 1997. His musical influences ranges from Classic, Soundtracks, Soul and Jazz, Deep House and Dub to his beloved Detroit Techno and US House. As a producer, his music draws deeply on the legacy of Chicago and Detroit, yet somehow manages to end up sounding as fresh as a daisy – records such as ‘Vibe’ and ‘Slices’ are house music that is half atmosphere and half beats, and not afraid to take its sweet time to lull the floor with their charms.

A self-taught musician who plays piano, acoustic guitar and percussion, Weisemann also composes jazz and soundtracks – traditions which also inform his house records no doubt, many of which you can find on Meanwhile, House Café Music, Apple Pips, Kann, a.r.t.less, Wandering, Liebe*Detail, Real Soon, Styrax Leaves, Essays, Freund Der Familie and especially Mojuba, where Weisemann’s music slots together with friends Nick Solé and Oracy to form a distinct, and highly collectible, label sound.

Several pseudonyms are in circulation.

Sometimes it can be difficult to label a genre for our guest mixes, but not so here, It was very easy to select the genre in this instance... H.O.U.S.E.... From Berlin's first lady of house music no less. We've been buggin' Cinthie for years to join the SB mix series, and after much badgering (well, not that much, Cinthie is lovely) she's stepped up to the platters that matter and delivered a mix that will catapult you into 2021, and place 2020 firmly in the rearview mirror.

Berlin-based DJ iamkimkong enjoys playing a mix of sleek and soulful, yet energy driven house music. Her sets give an electronic base but pull recognizable influences from RnB and hip hop culture, providing a rhythmic blended narrative and spot-on selection.
 
Over the last few years, she has become a force in the local nightlife scene, playing regularly in Berlin’s top clubs like Renate, Katerblau and About Blank, as well as festivals all over the country. She's also a music curator to well-known electronic music show Club Sandwich aired on Berlin’s radio station Flux FM since 2022. During the last three years iamkimkong released various remixes and originals.
