K. JACKSON BIOGRAPHY

HIP-HOP ARTIST, SONGWRITER, ACTOR & SINGER
K. Jackson is a breath of fresh air to the new millennium as he is not only a hip-hop artist, but he comes packaged as a quadruple threat with other talents such as singer, songwriter and actor. His artistry transcends through obstacles that most artist are not able to cross. Jackson’s original, edgy, honest and raw lyrical content along with his high energy performances and his charismatic personality have kept his fans loyal since his days in the R&B group 3rd Storee dating back from 1997 thru 2006. Following 3rd Storee, Jackson also formed a hip-hop artist group “Minorities Report” where he really began to show his individual talent and passion as a hip-hop artist. 

INNER CITY BORN, SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES RAISED
Jackson was born in Los Angeles, California on February 26, 1982. He has one sister, and three brothers. Jackson recalls being a young boy and describes his trials growing up in inner city South Central “Things were very difficult growing up and at times we had to be among gangs and drugs, but it was the love I had for music that got me through those times.” Jackson's influences were Run DMC, Dana Dane, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, LL Cool J, and N.W.A. Jackson also remembers, “When I was six years old I would freestyle and record myself to a tape recorder my grandfather bought me, that is how much I loved music.” Jackson graduated from Hollywood High School in California and he has traveled and toured from the States all the way to Japan. Jackson has toured with such mega groups such as N’Sync and pop sensation Brittany Spears. He has trained with some of the best such as Brook Payne, Dave Scott, Laurieann Gibson, Swoop, Tony Michaels, and Devyne. Jackson remembers, “We had this one choreographer that made us run in place for thirty minutes non-stop while singing, he called it “running the capital” it was tough but I did what I had to do.” All of Jackson’s trials and tribulations growing up as an inner city child, becoming a mega R&B sensation at a young age, touring all around the world and lastly, the diversity of being in a group gives him so much passion through his storytelling lyrics that he channels through his art in the form of hip-hop. Jackson has had the privilege throughout his career to work with talented grammy award wining producers/songwriters such as Dr. Dre, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins, Jon-John, Sean Garrett and Vidal.

DISCOVERING WHO K. JACKSON IS
After Jackson’s nearly 10 year career with R&B music group 3rd Storee came to an end, Jackson took time out to focus on acting with appearances on “Everybody Hates Chris”, along with several other commercials, film and television shows. When not acting, he also took time to develop his songwriting and his long awaited solo career, Jackson expresses, “I feel that everything I went through with the group and the record labels that I needed to take time out and regain my focus and get my passion back. I see myself now as the kind of hip-hop artist that will influence my listeners in a positive way because I tell them the truth.” 

Jackson’s sound has been described as Tupac meets Kayne West and a little bit of Drake, Jackson says, “Though my voice is often compared to Busta Rhymes, my style is more direct and focused on events and what makes me so unique compared to other hip-hop artist is my ability to switch from R&B to hip-hop, but also pop." K. Jackson is set to release his solo debut album through independent label Box Car Entertainment, with his first single entitled “Candy Man.”
