I chose to cover this song during a transitional time in my life living between California, Arizona, and Florida during the pandemic. Not knowing what was next in life and letting depression get the better of my outlook. I had always wanted to cover this song since I was little, but really wanted to make it my own. One random night in the Arizona, I tracked a single live take in my travel studio and felt it appropriately documented both my liminal state at the time as well as the bleak outlook of the future I carried.
