I am Daniel Carneiro born in OPorto Portugal, and this is part of my story.
My music story began when I was 3/4 years old and learned how to play Portuguese cavaquinho. 

Around age 8 my brother who was starting a metal band called SPLUSH at the time taught me on how to play classical/electric guitar, so I could go and do jam sessions with his band, and went quite a few times and was awesome to play and the very first time I heard a band playing so close.
Since I was little, I went into random coffee shops with my dad and played cavaquinho and guitar quite a lot for free to people. This made me feel less anxious when being around unknown people, and taught me a lot about life itself.

What got me into electronic music was DJ Tiesto, Benny Benassi, DJ Vibe. That track, satisfaction, was something out of this world when I first heard it. So I began to try a software called ejay that I found online and started to try to do techno tracks with some melody (I don’t have it any more, but I think I listened some years later, and it was crap 😀). Then I’ve started to experiment with other types of softwares like Magix, Cubase and a friend of mine “Minus MR Dolly” was a good jazz/hip hop producer at the time and, I asked him to teach me how to do tracks in Reason, that was when I really started to understand how musical production was like. I think we spent like 2 afternoons around it, and we made a dubstep track together. After that and taking what I have learned I started to make electronic music and experimenting with slicing loops and giving them a different purpose, so I created the artist name DSlice which meant the slice, as the slice of somewhere that created music. So I was creating loops of melodies, drums, effects on reason and joining other loops I got from the internet and started to do mixes of all those sounds.

I’ve asked a friend of mine at the time that had a camera, and he made this video clip of one of my tracks:

Later on I decided to change my artist name to Dannyspotencius as DSlice was taken and published my music to all platforms, but sadly the name was hard to spell and say I changed it to loonix now and starting all over again, which is a mix of looney toons and Unix (operating system), that was my first nickname on the web back on the IRC days.
